We would like to welcome you to a new addition to our weekly radio this week from none other than Johnny Yen (Archaic Future Sounds). 
 
DJ, selector and vinyl digger Johnny Yen started his career in the mid-2000s by organizing and performing raves in a Viennese night club in a former pedestrian underpass. A subversive supporter of the underground scene, he has curated and played hundreds of club events. 
 
In his Vinyl-only sets he loves to mix various styles like Leftfield-, Balearic-, Afro Cosmic- and Italo Disco with New Beat, EBM, Electro, House , Techno and Trance, not only vintage but also contemporary productions from his Collection of 12,000 records. Since 2009, Johnny's has been hosting the Disco Frisco DJ Mix Podcast and the event series of the same name with great passion. In 2021 he founded his label for contemporary electronic music Archaic Future Sounds.

Lithuanian and Vilnius-based Midnattssoula is a label owner, DJ, radio host and party entertainer. He runs his own project Where Were We? for 4 years now and the show will be hosting its 117th guest this week.

The WWW label has released it's sixth release just now and it's the remix pack for Azole's "Mr. Sutherland" EP. It features four strong remixes from Romain Fx, Endrik Schroeder, Ivan Fabra and Black Feeling.

The very first Keinemusik radio show this year has been selected and mixed by Curses. Curses is a Berlin-based producer, a live performer and a DJ, the New Yorker released on underground labels such as Bordello A Parigi, Throne of Blood, Ombra INTL. Relish. The long awaited debut album came out on Jennifer Cardini’s Dischi Autunno label. Expect a darker side of disco, electro with flashes of EBM, New Wave and synth vibes.

Having dabbled with DJing during her 20s, Alice Palace took a break for well over a decade, favouring the dance floor over the DJ booth. She only seriously reconnected with DJing in the last year during the enforced lockdown after doing a show for a friend on EH-FM. A residency soon followed on Cowbell Radio, along with shows on Isolation Station, Graffiti Kings Radio, and Rising Edge Radio, with occasional sets for various live-streaming platforms in London, Edinburgh, and her new hometown of Berlin. 

  Her usual style is downtempo chugging dance music, often with a nod to the '80s and a large dose of sleaze. But here she has stepped up the pace a little, opening with some dark and moody basslines leading into a more uplifting dance-inducing second half.  

“I find it hard to define my style of music, it definitely doesn't fit easily into one or two genres. My earliest influences came from Lindstrom & Prins Thomas's style of spacey disco and they are still very present in what I play now, but I also really enjoy slow pitched down music that you can’t necessarily dance to but which provides a different type of escapism. Hence why my Mixcloud has a wide variety of sets playing many different types of music. It's a way to channel and express my emotions… and emotions change from day to day, week to week. I guess the best way to describe what I play is anything that either moves me emotionally or makes me want to move my feet. That's probably the best and most simple way to put it!”, she said.

I always stay true to the sounds I provide. The waves I carefully select and over listen to, play between 90 to 122bpm, my favourite speed being around 115. The longest I’ve played is 12hrs and ruined everybodys Christmas in 2017.
Tend to sketch a lot when preping tracks in a certain composition, which brings me closer to my collection.
Please listen to this while you do whatever, because it’s a great companion when cleaning the pool. 
I Found the genre to be refreshing, hypnotising, psychedelic, warm and cold at the same time, self sufficient, stimulating, hopeful, underground, emotional, unstopable, harmonious, creative, inspiring, composed, tweaked, joyful with a certain smart unexpected Humour.
