Last Knockers edit - a great unwinding remix of Chris Todd (Hot Toddy) and Jim Baron's band project 'Crazy P', who have been releasing on Paper Recordings since the early 1996.

Stephen Richards delivered a trippy and emotive selection to pay a proper tribute to the incredible Pink Floyd:

"I’ve been listening to Pink Floyd for nearly 30 years. I first heard their 1973 masterpiece "The Dark Side Of The Moon" and was immediately blown away by their sound, melody, experimentation and ability to design and create full concepts of music. After listening to it, I moved forward in years discovering their later albums before I ended up going right back to the beginning until I knew and grasped every album in their catalogue. It’s mesmerising to listen to their development as a unit whilst they carved out their first half dozen albums. 

I always find it very hard to imagine a band that will ever come close to having all of the entities that made them so creative, unique, and special. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to experience the classic line-up with Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason in person, but I am very grateful to have caught Roger Waters live twice including "The Wall Tour" at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin. 

This tribute mix to Pink Floyd was a very enjoyable experience – digging through their entire catalogue once again. Big thanks to Sexy Dinosaur From Outer Space for inviting me to take part in this brilliant project of theirs. Lastly, throughout this mix, I have tried to include as many magical elements as possible from each of the steps these four (five including Syd Barret) legends took on their musical journey. Sit back, absorb the creativity, and enjoy!"

TBT005 // Pink Floyd - Tribute by Stephen Richards

We are honored to premiere this tune from the last ever Trash The Wax legendary compilation series from Paper Recs.

As Frankie sang, 'and now, the end is near', which is certainly the case for the long standing Trash The Wax compilation series.

Over the years, it has released some absolute dance floor smashers by established names in the art of bangers as well as emerging music makers showcasing their fresh sounds.

Initially, Paper wanted to establish Trash The Wax outside of the 'kick-hat-snare stuck over a Sister Sledge sample' style edits that were dropping weekly. The result was a collection of cuts aimed at the dance floor which would also appeal to fans of electronic music. But all things come to an end, and with this 10th release, we are finishing on a high.

As expected there are disco ticklers aplenty from renowned party people such as Late Nite Tuff Guy, Ed Wizard, Bill Brewster, Pablo & Shoey, Danny Russell & Ronald Christoph and Yam Who.

Tracks such as Leon Sweet's Sunny Bigler made their way into the record boxes of the likes of Luke Unabomber, Maurice Fulton and Chris Duckenfield as well as the airwaves of 6Music. Deckard's rework of the theme from 'The Warriors' created scenes at ALFOS in Glasgow with Sean Johnston saying 'I've never seen as many shirtless middle age blokes go as mental as they did when that dropped!'

On a more twisted gutter style disco tip, there is Richard Seaborne's ' Is This Acid?' which topped the Paper best ever sellers on Beatport for months, Richard Norris's 'Glow' is textbook space disco, the low slung sludge of James Rod & Aleito's 'Raum 909' and the Speak & Spell narrated Acidisco by Andy Buchan.

There are also two brand new cuts from TTW family members Boblebad & D.S.D. plus more killer music than we can shake a disco stick at. Never has the phrase 'all hitters and no shitters' been more apt.
