I can't remember the last time I made a mix and It not be for someone else's podcast or channel.

It's a side of me musically I don't get to show too often but still certainly keeping in with the energetic and emotive sounds I'm known for and if you have seen me play the last weeks you will have already heard a few of these tracks in my recent sets. 

Featuring a selection of music from some favourites including Massimiliano Pagliara, Manuel Darquart, Demi Riquísimo, Man/ipulate, Running Hot & more.

PS: I can't take credit for the "Summer Closing" concept that was suggested by my good friend "Thabo" before our show at Fabric in London last month, I've kind of stolen the idea for this mix, sorry bro! x

Originally from Manchester but having found his place in Berlin, it's SY who delivers the next episode of the art:cast series with an approach, which lets the listener dive into the artist's ocean of music with latter coming in (huge) waves and causing the same. It may or may  not be a surprise for listeners, who have been following the artist for a moment, that SY chose a rather deep, housey and 90s infused selection of tracks, for his art:cast. However, Simon, SY's real name, wiped the dust of techy dead wood off almost two years ago to musically reinvent himself and have both, his sets as well as productions, circle around House Music, where SY not only found ease but fulfillment. It's no surprise that he has had a release on Rawax with a follow-up shortly. Until then listeners and followers can enjoy his one hour mix for Torture the Artist.

Hailing from Manchester, born in ’82 his taste and love for the scene came from a legendary time in house music for the North of England. Playing in Manchester’s bars and clubs since the late 90's he quickly gained recognition and had a former label residency in the city's legendary club Sankeys, at the same time playing some of the most renowned clubs and parties around the world, a few of his personal highlights over his 20+ years behind the booth include playing at Fabric, London, D-EDGE, São Paulo, Brazil, Space Ibiza where he held a summer residency for four years between 2012 & 2016, ADE, Amsterdam & Off Week in Barcelona. 

Fast-forward to 2014, SY left the UK for Berlin and for over 9 years has brought his eclectic music style to the city's most popular dance floors. Gaining key label residencies at legendary clubs such as Tresor and the esteemed Watergate Club, where he held a long standing residency between 2016 & 2021, he has also graced the decks at some of the most highly respected clubs in the city including Club De Visionnaire, Hoppetosse, Sisyphos, Goldengate. 

Throughout his career as a DJ and producer he has released a number of records on respected labels amassing an ever growing discography along the way. Rawax, Semi Delicious (A Lifetime On The Hips), Prozpektiva (KMA60), Dansu Discs, Loser Records and his own formally run imprint EWax have been some of the most recent to date. 

More recently SY has launched a new unique Vinyl only concept, E&X Records, with a fresh house/progressive sound harking back to the 90’s era, with plenty more new and exciting projects on the way in 2024.
