The recording of the mix I made for @lowless-music's Rinse France show on the 30th of September 2022. 

I wanted this mix to be a kind of part-2 to the show I did at The Lot Radio in NY back in February in 2020 (if any of you remember that one - https://soundcloud.com/syberkid/thelotradio).

Basically, another mix journeying through hazy-deep-broken-strange music. I have a playlist under that name, where anything that feels like this lives, and as we head back towards colder weather, it’s these tunes I’m reaching for.

The mix criss-crosses through deep techno, inquisitive percussion, lazybreaks, slowed-dubstep, and ye I dunno, some gnarly alien noises? The main thing I wanted to capture is a central sort of frazzled feeling around the edges of the sounds, and a morphing gelatinous groove which feels like it could fractalise in unexpected directions.

I was really happy to take part in Noods’ Sporecast Radio – a day of programming celebrating World Mushroom Day on the 15th of October, and also dedicated to the late DJ Mooncup (an amazing soul who knew so much about fungi of all kinds🧡)

Noods asked me to put together an ambient mix to start the day’s broadcast at 7am. The mix I made tells the story of mycelium under the earth slowly waking up and sprouting into beautiful mushrooms. Finding a mushroom sprouting out of the ground is always something I find exciting, and I wanted to capture that feeling in this mix 🍄🌿

In so many ways mushrooms are the future - they can break down plastics and toxic substances, help heal physical and psychological conditions, communicate with trees, provide a sustainable & healthy food source, grow eco-friendly alternatives to leather and packaging, operate as natural pesticides, and so much more - here’s to mushrooms!

The recording of my set at Paral·lel Festival 2022 🌲⛰🧡 @parallelfestival

I was on 12.30-14.30 on Saturday afternoon. When I started playing, grey hazy clouds were still drifting across the panorama from Friday night’s storm, and by the end of my set, the sun was shining down on all of us.

This set meant a great deal to me, and being gifted the task of drifting from ambient expansion into trippy rhythms, coaxing everyone up off the floor and into movement, was such a dream.

“For this mix I wanted to capture the icy freshness of January, a month filled with new energy, bright skies, and winter’s introspection. Inspired by a trip in the mountains: cold alpine air, glittering snow, and vast expanses of rock nestled amongst forests of pine trees. As we enter the midsummer-solstice season, I wanted to share this recording from a glorious sunny morning last year, now archived on Deep Mind Music ☀️

This is the set I played 8-10AM on Sunday at @comebyefestival in Wales for @umbilicalchords, in their cosy fuchsia~draped ambient dome.

Playing ambient in the early hours of a festival is always really special for me, as everyone’s minds are open and unwound, the gentle caress of nature is all around, and it feels the best backdrop for swirling into imaginal worlds 🌿

Hope you enjoy this wistful meander through tall breezy grasses, golden sunshine, and drifting clouds ~ a mix for daydreaming, nature-wandering, tea-drinking, sunbathing 🧡🌞🌾

I had the joy of playing a sunny afternoon set 15:00-17:30 before Konduku, so I kept things bright & groovy 🌻🧚🌞

This set features some IDM, electro and minimal tracks I haven’t played out in years, alongside recent releases I’ve been enjoying.

The whole festival was beautifully programmed and curated, and I heard many inspiring sets throughout the weekend in the iconic grounds of the Castell De Montjuïc.

The recording of my set from La Nature Festival, recorded 12-3PM on a glorious sunny Sunday on the 23rd of June 2024.

This was one of my favourite sets this summer, I was so honoured to be playing before the legendary DJ Nobu, and spent time preparing for this set gathering bright~dubby~daytime techno with a zippy flair and uplifting energy 🧚

The set features lots of tracks I’ve been enjoying this summer, including music by: Tsott, GiGi FM, Azu Tiwaline, Vladw, Al Wootton, Sindh, Luigi Tozzi, Konduku, Stojche, Ness, Ruman, Rene Wise, Fireground, Forest On Stasys, Kohra & Midnight Traffic +++

I’ve long been drawn to the deep, organic and electrifying techno of Japan–inextricably linked to open-air gatherings deep in the forest–so it was very special to play this set in the mystical woods of Nagano’s mountains.

Whilst playing this set it started snowing heavily, and when I stepped outside after the show there was 10cm of snow on the ground! So this mix is also a soundtrack for the soft-coldness of nighttime snowfall 🌙

Monument Waves 005 : Sybil

One year on, I am so excited to share the recording of my set at Mo:Dem 2024, playing at The Seed stage 🌀💠🌀

My first experience of The Seed blew me away, opening new doorways in my mind and rewiring neural connections between genres and sonic sensations. Each stage at Modem @mo_dem is a universe of its own, and I felt completely at home at The Seed ~ a place for lucid dreaming and floating through the depths of space ✥

I played on Friday night from 11PM-2AM, slithering through subaquatic dubstep, spectral IDM, molten halftime and slinky psychedelic nighttime music of all shades ~

The set starts off propulsive, and as we descend into the night, the energy slowly evaporates, as The Seed shifts into a cocoon of pulsating luminescence for the late night hours. 

Thank you to @marcomental and @spekkiwebu for the invitation and inspiration. Returning to The Seed this year was equally special, it is now deeply nestled in my heart, and the recording of 2025’s set might also surface one day. But for now, I hope you enjoy this dive back to 2024 ~ three hours of psychedelic bass vibrations from the depths ✧｡⋆.

This set is 3 hours from the heart journeying through time&space across ambient, downtempo, trip hop, acoustic instrumentals, synthesiser pieces and all inbetween 💞 

This is one of my favourite ambient DJing experiences I've had, I felt so at home in the Bossa Lounge and such a deep sense of attentiveness from the audience, thank you to all those who travelled with me on this trip.

Mixtape of a selection of tracks from my ambient playlists loosely stitched together in Ableton.

I made this more for me, these are all the tracks I listened to during a personally transformative experience in the Swedish countryside lying on a trampoline staring at the sky, but I'm putting it up here as well incase anyone else likes to daydream/meditate listening to this kinda stuff. I might do a few more of these when I get the chance, hence ‘vol. 1’.

I've been planning to expand upon my first Deep Mind Music mix for a long time now, but it's difficult to whittle down hundreds of tracks that could work into one mix. I was asked to play an ambient set at a small festival my friends organise, and this provided the framework to shape my sprawling playlists into a cohesive set. 

I played at 2.30am sitting on the floor of a small geodesic dome lit up with oil and water projections. This is the live recording of the set.

The first hour of this mix was recorded live at "The Psychedelic Full Circle Hypnose Room Of Ambient Self Actualization" in room 2 of the Objekt b2b Call Super night at E1 on the 17th of November from 2.30 - 3.30am. 

Sadly the E1 manager stopped my set and tried to shut down the ambient room 1 hour in, because he thought the ambient music was "too dangerous" because people were lying down on mattresses, and wanted dance music in that room instead. I managed to get them to allow me to carry on with the ambient music, but they took away all the sofas and mattresses and cleared most people out of the room with torches. Probably the first time in history an ambient set has been shut down for being "too dangerous"... 

Before they did this though, it was a serene and wonderful space which proved you could do something really different and creative in a mega club environment like that. Big ups to the lovely Make Me and Percolate crews for their creativity and hard work in creating this space. They brought in sofas, mattresses, cushions, live analogue visuals, a large golden lamp for the decks, and put the decks on a low table by a sofa (it sure is nice to DJ sitting down). 

It's such a shame that in the end E1's club management didn't understand what we were trying to do and decided to intervene. I wish more venues would take a chance on creating spaces like this. Spaces to listen to music which might not have kick drums, where you can relax and chat to your friends, before returning to dance in the other room. So many London clubs have *no* space to sit down and relax, and it makes nights out very exhausting and claustrophobic. 

Anyways, I re-recorded the last 30 minutes at home, then put it all together, to capture the serene and mystical energy I had been trying to share with people in that lovely space.

Deep Mind Music Vol.3

Recording of me & @drumsofjay DJing b2b for 3 hours at Darkroom in December with Helena Hauff and Nazira at Hangar.  

We played 00:00 - 03:00 in room 2. This whole set felt like magic from start to finish, and we are excited to share this recording with the world. 

Jay & I have this very intertwined musical understanding, probably from the many many hours we spend sharing music with each other and partying together. When we play together we always play one-for-one, and because of our symbiotic feeling for where the set should go, these sets feel like we’re co-creating something special with endless possibilities. 

Thanks to the Darkroom guys for having us down and everyone who was there dancing from start to finish 🖤

Upload of the mix I made for @toma-kami's @man-band show on @rinse_france, aired on the 3rd of February 2019.

🌬For this mix I tried to capture the feeling of winter in January / February: cold, dazzling, sharp mornings, bright washed out blue skies, frost sparkling off leaves, shiny skins of ice on tarmac, biting winds, dark gloomy evenings, feeling insular and emotional & the hope of the new year quickly swallowed by the wormhole of life sucking you in again.

I had a lot of fun putting this together and managed to execute a few ideas I've had brewing for a while 🦇

I adoorre this photo by Kristina Makeeva of the frozen gas bubbles in lake Baikal in Siberia, and to me it perfectly captures the energy of this mix ❄️

Rinse France - 03.02.19

I stopped by @thelotradio in New York  to spin some tunes before playing at Nowadays on Saturday night. Loved the booth and set-up they have there! Enjoy this short journey into some hazy deep broken strange beats I've been feeling recently.

When recording this mix, I imagined playing a set at 6AM, at the end of a high intensity rave outside in nature. Going from hazy pre-dawn darkness, to the sun cresting over the horizon and into glorious sparkling sunlight 🌤

A sunrise set for when you can telepathically feel the energy of everyone else on the dance floor. These are the moments I am missing right now, and this mix is dedicated to those luminescent mornings.

These are all my most sacred, emotional, magical tracks in one mix, including many of my favourite ‘90s techno-trance records from a golden time for transcendental dance music.
