Attila started to immerse in the world of sounds in primary school; he played the clarinet for several years and then begun to produce music on his first computer. Cord has released 3 mini-albums and singles and a numerous tracks on compilations. His new EP ‘Suburb Tales’ is a beat-powered psybient journey which originally was made for his brother’s wedding entrance music.

Inspired by the luscious vocals of the original track, I decided to opt for a more gentle, chilled-out vibe for this remix. Throughout the process my head kept trying to make the tune "more bangin" or "more psychedelic" but my heart kept telling me to just dial it back, be vulnerable, let the vocals set the mood and the tone, and don't try to force it into something it doesn't want to be. 

So this is what came out! I hope you enjoy, let me know what you think <3

Kaya Project - The Weight of Words (Hedflux Remix)

Inspired by the beauty and structure of humpback whale songs, this album was made through collaboration between a scientist and artists. 

Humpback whale song is the most complex vocal display in the animal kingdom and one of the most striking examples of animal culture. 
It has a hierarchical structure: 
The smallest element of a song is called a unit. Units are organized in a specific sequence to make a phrase. Phrases are repeated to make a theme. Several themes arranged in a specific pattern make up a song. 
Only male humpbacks sing, and the songs constantly evolve, but all males in the same population sing the same version of the song at any given time. 

How do they learn their songs and how and why these songs evolve? 
I hope that my research will shed light on this mystery and help with the conservation of these magnificent creatures! 

I invite you to dive into the world of sound through this album, in which each artist’s track represents one theme of a humpback whale song. 
Artists donated their time, talent and knowledge into making this compilation so people can hear these amazing sounds and learn about these incredible animals.

A project unlike any other comes to Desert Trax this fall. Between 2009 and 2012, psychedelic bass producer Twin Shape created but left unfinished three songs that tied him inextricably to a certain time and place. As the years went on, these pieces remained rough and untouched, until he sought the help of three fellow producers to help him complete these songs.
The result is the 'Auxiliatus' EP. From the Latin to support, Alterra, Shwamp , and COAM stepped in to give Twin Shape distance, perspective, and help to revisit these original creations and give them a contemporary feel on Seeded, D&N and Glimpse, respectively. Three tightly wound compositions that have spanned nearly a decade since their inception now come to life with throbbing low end and alien implications. A strong recommendation for fans of Bird of Prey, Phutureprimitive, and Ott.

Standout Desert Trax contributor Key-G steps in for a remix of the Alterra collab, Seeded, to round out this 4-track set. The Auxiliatus EP is finally available September 13th.
