This talk was an introduction to the Parinirvana puja held at the Sydney Buddhist Centre on Saturday Feb 14. It explores ways of reflecting on certain events in the Mahaparinirvana sutta from the Digha Nikaya and references a pilgrimage to India in 2009.

The talk addresses the topic of friendship very personally, looking at close friends, mentors, and the potential to be a good friend even to someone we have just met, and asks questions such as "Whats in it for us?" and "Do retreats and meditation make me a better friend?".
