This is the first proper book I've read on the Khilafah issue and I am highly impressed by it. The author has very clearly stated the entire concept of Khilafat, first starting with what Allah SWT in the holy Quran say about it, and then proving with the Ahadith its concept. The era of the first four caliphs is explained in a very clear, non-biased way, which will serve as a guiding light for all those who want to see khilafah prevail in the Muslim Ummah. A clear insight about the battles fought after the shahadah of Hazrat Usman RA has been given. The Umayyad dynasty marked the beginning of monarchy and the author has not hidden parts of history to show that this was a tragedy, a grave tragedy indeed for the muslim ummah. Throughout the rule of Umayyads and Abassids, it was Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz who proved only within a span of only two and a half years how a real khalifah should be like, reviving the sunnah of the righteous caliphs. Khilafah and Malookiat are some of the most famous books of Abu Ali Maududi. In this book, he discusses the issues of the Islamic Khilafah and tries to show that successful governance can be achieved by following the method of the first Khilafah. Just as in the time of the Righteous Caliphate everyone had his own rights and the Caliph was allowed to question and answer, such a system is a better system for this universe. 

In contrast, monarchy, which is a monarchical system, has many shortcomings, and this is due to changes in the monarch's electoral system. Yes, but it is impossible for that to happen. Therefore, there is only one standard left before the world and that is the standard of the Righteous Caliphate. In it, he has discussed the principles of Islamic rule, the righteous caliphate, and its characteristics, from the righteous caliphate to the monarchy, the difference between the caliphate and the monarchy, etc. This book has been very popular and varied. Therefore, if one wants to know Maududi's views, one should listen this book with great care.
