Here is a recording of a guest mix a I did for Detroit based radio station 313.FM for the show Planet Funk. I decided to take some inspiration from the show's name and dig into my new school disco, electronic funk, and house collection. It features a mixture of new and old tracks, as well as some personal favourite cuts from Detroit producers such as Los Hermanos, and the late K-Hand and Mike Huckaby.

Andrew Wowk - Guest Mix on Planet Funk (313.FM Detroit)

This week we welcome Eora local legend - Andrew Wowk. Andrew Wowk is a DJ, producer, radio host, promoter, and writer who has been active in the Eroa (Sydney) electronic music scene for over fifteen years. First introduced to dance music culture through work experience at community radio station Rhythm FM at age 16, Andrew exudes a passion for and knowledge of music that is the result of years of experience.
As a DJ, Andrew has earned a reputation for refined technical skills and eclectic track selection. His tastes run the gamut of techno, house, breakbeat, drum & bass and jungle, electro, and leftfield electronica. But even with such a wide range of music at his disposal, he finds ways to combine these numerous sounds into a cohesive whole. Often focused more on telling a story or creating a particular feeling with his sets, he regularly moves fluidly across stylistic boundaries, preferring to find other similarities between tracks than just their genre. 

Outside of club DJing, Andrew also produces music under the alias End User License Agreement, which has been released on international labels such as Biotech Recordings and Baroque Recordings, and Australian labels such as Extra Spicy, Communication Records, Monarch Recordings, and Late Night Music.

Echoes From a Black Transmission drifts in like a signal caught in decay: seven tracks that shift through eroded textures, low-lit atmospheres, and rhythms worn down by time. Each piece feels like a message intercepted mid-collapse, a transmission from the edge of something ending. A sense of change is tangible, like the end of a season or a slow fading of light. It’s music for that moment when something familiar disappears, and a new, stranger atmosphere takes its place.
There’s a tension between precision and entropy throughout the record. Glitches become pulses, synthetic tones stretch into fog, and structures dissolve into residue. Rather than build toward resolution, the tracks remain suspended, looping in their own gravitational field. Sound becomes sediment.

Bøngvr, also known as Visceral Infusions, is a multidisciplinary artist: a producer, DJ, photographer, and event curator.

Originally from Russia, he is now based in Tbilisi where he relocated due to military mobilization and a personal drive for exploration.

He is a resident of Sacred Sound, founder of Thesis, and a co-curator of the Otrkiće Festival.

Bøngvr describes his artistic vision as one of ritualistic, hypnotic intensity and transgressive sound patterns.

His LP, Ceiling’s Collapse, tells a story of inner breakthroughs, abstract challenges, and liminal discoveries. The album blends synthetic soundscapes, tribal rhythms, and involving textures. Moving between obscure ambient passages and high-energy beats.

“A house built from sound”: that’s how Seoul-based artist https://soundcloud.com/sijin_synthasia introduces DOMAIN, his forthcoming self-released EP. Spanning five tracks, including reinterpretations by Yuki Matsumura, Inn, and Matthew Cha, it approaches contemporary electronic music as a kind of dwelling: not fixed or possessive, but somewhere to pause, reflect, and gradually let go.

He has also received international recognition, being invited to play guest sets at Circus Osaka in Japan, DEPTH and Train Car House Party in Seattle, as well as perform on 313.FM in Detroit, WNYU in New York, and provide mixes for Animal Instinct in Berlin, Fnoob Radio, and Error Sessions in the UK.

Outside of club DJing, Andrew also produces music under the alias End User License Agreement, which has been released on labels such as Biotech Recordings, Baroque Recordings, Extra Spicy, Communication Records, Monarch Recordings, and Late Night Music. His remix of Floor Twenty’s “Say My Name” and his original track “Chonk” were both featured in Beatport’s and Juno's best bass music releases from 2021. He also hosts a weekly radio show "Time To Track" on 2SER, regularly writes for both print and online media, and runs events covering the spectrum of underground dance music, featuring previous headliners such as Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Marcus Intalex, Regis, Hodge, Adriana Lopez, Djinn, SNTS, and Nastia Reigel. 

Andrew is passionate about social and political issues and strongly believes in using music as a medium for addressing these issues. Much of the music he loves was originally created in tandem with social, cultural, and political movements, and he believes that contemporary music should also carry a message. To put this into practice, he launched Music For Change, a label which donates 100% of profits from all releases to various charities, alongside Jessica Tassone in 2021. Releases on the label have been supported by international artists such as Dave Clarke, Ani Klang, and Alchemist/Amy Kisnorbo, played on BBC Radio 1, and added to the rotation on local radio stations FBI Radio and 2SER.
