My set from solstice festival is up on the cloud. 

Solstice is a unique festival happening in the northernmost tip of Finland. Since it’s so far out of civilisation (9 hours drive from Helsinki), the people who choose to attend are actually making the effort to travel that far and are purely there for the music & nature.

At this time of year, the sun in Lapland is never going down... the stage was up on a mountain giving a glowing northern view. I got the dance floor from Ajukaja & Ats who played a live set around 120 bpm and took it from there. It felt like playing at a club but it was at the open wide - probably the absolute perfect settings for me.

I've never been one to record my live sets, but this time I wanted to try and capture the essence of the moment. You can never fully recreate it, but you can feel its energy. I made sure to include the sounds of the room, the raving crowd, and even some funny insights at the end of the set 🙃

Thanks Joni, Denzel, Justus, Daniel and Andy for crafting it all, you are true pros! And to Gabrielle for holding my hand and making your birthday celebration in the woods one to remember! Lastly, thanks Yonti for joining me in purchasing this recorder just days before the festival :)

Hiii, Octo Octa here! I'm sharing a new mix series I'm doing under the name "Groovy Girl" and the first entry is "Bang The Drum" <3 

It is a house and acid percussive groover of a mix that will hopefully have you raving where ever you are. Mixed on two Technics 1210 M5Gs and a Pioneer A9 Mixer, plus some overdubs on the recording. 

This release is a Mix CD tracked so you can jump back over and over to your favorite part. The CD insert has photos of all of the records I used for the mix in order.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it. Can't wait to get started on the next in the series!!

Lunchbox Candy is all about community, diversity, radical self expression and curating an experience, an energy that connects and moves people. 

Over the years we’ve been expanding and experimenting with different sounds without getting stuck in a box - this is a little taste of what you would expect to hear at one of our parties. 

It features a wide variety of textures and sounds, steering away from specific genres, highlighting Queer, FLINTA, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists, producers, collectives and record labels - Chloe Thevenin’s Lumiere Noir, Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondent, Major Records, MARICAS, Josh Caffe, Dornika, DJ Babatr, CCL, D Tiffany, Roza Terenzi, Kim Swim, Steffi x Virginia and more.

It gives a nod to our past - specifically to ballroom culture with Alexander Skancke’s ‘You Get A Two’ and The Paradise Garage with a remake of Yazoo’s ‘Situation’ - 90s inspired New York house, sex dripping 808s with Josh Caffe and LSDXOXO, and then going down a more experimental booty shaking route with bass, breakbeat, dembow and even drum n’ bass.  

For many years queer parties focused on specific sounds and genres and rarely veered off into uncharted territories. It’s so refreshing to now witness so many different collectives embracing such diversity of genres from across the globe and from all eras, adding their own take and delivering something new, unique and exciting.

Although having grown up in greater Paris, it is in Germany that everything began for Sylvio B. Adopted by the queer community of Hamburg and notably Saeleen Bouvar who will teach him the "herstorical way of djing", Sylvio B (originally Sylvio Bouvar as a tribute to his mentor) is now creating his own path on the house music scene.

Inspired by Chicago house, ballrooms and electroclash, Sylvio B gathers styles and eras in his eclectic dj sets.

After having played in Berlin (Kater Blau, Fusion festival 2022, Suicide club, SchwuZ), Hamburg (PAL, Kampnagel), Amsterdam (IsBurning, Thuishaven, Pamela Amsterdam), London (Dalston Superstore), Antwerp (Club Capital), Nantes (Macadam) and Paris (Virage, Mustang, Carbone club, Pamela club, Bizarre Love Triangle..), Sylvio B, started producing and released his first track "Turn me out" on the media Les Disques du Lobby. Other tracks have followed since such as a remix of "The Oracle" (The Carry Nation & The Cucarachas) supported by Electronic Groove and receiving a warm welcome worldwide (played at Berghain / Panorama bar). His debut EP featuring Robert Owens has just been released and is receiving critical acclaim worldwide (Alinka, Josh Wink, Mystic Bill, The Carry Nation...).
