I can't remember what prompted me to write this back in 1994, but I think the sentiment was based on folks who put work ahead of relationships. I have certainly been that guy and know the temptations to think you're doing something valuable when in fact you're missing out on your real life.  I used only an acoustic guitar and one vocal track on this recording in an attempt to keep it simple. (If my illustration is not correct, forgive me. I was never very good at math. ;-)
