Kasra has pulled out all the stops, sifting through his phone book to enlist the talents of some of the biggest and most exciting producers in the game. Noisia, Dub Phizix, Enei, Phace, Sam Binga and Kasra himself all make sterling contributions that make for an album of the best of Underground Sonic expression.
It’s been a few years since our last fully fledged label compilation so I wanted to ensure this one was as vital as possible. For me this album truly encapsulates the essence of Critical, a balanced mix of all that’s exciting about this music - heads down lights out rollers, experimental side steps and some slightly more aggressive attention grabbers. One of only three people to ever remix a Break track ; the reigns have been effortlessly taken by Calibre for a relick of "They're Wrong". Being the man he is Calibre has blessed Symmetry with two versions of the remix so watch out for the alternate mix in the bonus tracks. Teaming up with DLR one of the scene's hottest technical producers, the mighty "New Design" was born at the end of last year, smashing clubs all over the festive season, a great follow on for fans of their last co-lab "Murmur".

Featuring NC17 & KC 's guaranteed club hurter "SlimeVille" - and a brand new Break track "Wondering Why" this is an essential E.P. to get into your bag for the start of the year. The dub style "Dem Babylon" rounds off the record with a different down tempo flavour from Break showing his dubwise musical skills.

It’s true that FD can be, and mean, a whole number of things. And he has his friends (let’s call them this for the sake of this piece) to thank for a wealth of fun and exciting possible names he can use. If only he’d thought of this when quite willingly accepting FD as his DJ name, rapidly and untested-ly bestowed upon him in his teenage years. But he didn’t. And so now here we are. And here he is. Floppy Dingbat. 

Luckily for us, it seems he decided to use his ‘Fxxkin Dutty’ pseudonym when he sat down to remix this classic Total Science track. 

‘Kingpin’ first surfaced in 2002 when it headed up the pretty awesome ‘Tuned In’ album and was also given the remix treatment by the legendary Future Cut shortly after. 

Come 2024, it was definitely ready for another update and luckily for us, and for you, FD has delivered a version which has his trademarks stamped all over it - and it’s Fxxkin Dutty.

Long hours in the studio have lead to releases on Ram, Metalheadz, Shogun, Exit, Critical, Soul:R, Quarantine, Subtitles and a host of others; cementing Break’s reputation as one of drum & bass’ hottest talents. His trusted skills have been reigned in to remix seminal drum & bass classics including Shy FX’s ‘Bambaata’, Die’s ‘Clear Skyz’, Commix’s ‘Talk to Frank’ and Ram Trilogy’s ‘Gridlock’ as well as Bloc Party’s UK top-5 hit ‘The Prayer’.

Equally praised for his DJ skills, Break maintains a consistent touring schedule that sees him playing across the globe on a weekly basis on the stages of the world’s biggest drum & bass institutions; from Fabric, Detonate, Bedlam, Warning, Metalheadz and Hospitality in the UK to the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the breadth of Europe, playing headline shows or back2back sets with the likes of Die, Goldie and Dillinja.

Launching his own label, Symmetry Recordings in 2006, Break honed and polished his sound with each single and released his fist album, also entitled ‘Symmetry’ in 2008. Featuring forays into ambient, dubstep, funk, hip hop, house and soul amongst an arsenal of sure-fire drum & bass, ‘Symmetry’ earned Break an army of new fans from outside the d&b world with tracks picked up by the likes of techno legends Laurent Garnier and Josh Wink. 

Two years later Break has risen the bar further still via his second LP; ‘Resistance’. Featuring collaborations with No U-Turn mastermind Nico, Bristol’s DJ Die, super-duo Calyx & Teebee, DNAudio cohorts Silent Witness and Survival, Shogun Audio’s SpectraSoul and vocalists Kyo and SP:MC, the album offers a glorious journey through the spectrum of Break’s styles and influences and a clear indication of where his talents will lead him next. 

The next chapter for Break is signing new exciting artists to coincide with his own output on the label! Keep a keen eye on Symmetry as this is the label for the real sounds of Drum & Bass, absolutely no compromise!
