We say hello and welcome „TOBI TOBERMANN“, wie er sich
selbst nennt, wurde 1980 geboren
und stammt aus einer
musikalischen Familie: Sowohl sein
Großvater als auch sein Vater
waren Musiker; letzterer releaste in
den 1960er Jahren gemeinsam mit
seiner eigenen Band sogar eine
Schallplatte. Er selbst lernte bereits
im Alter von vier Jahren Notenlesen
und Blockflöte spielen, zwei Jahre
später wurde er in die Kunst des
Querflötenspiels eingeführt. Mit
zwölf Jahren widmete er sich
schließlich der Orgel, die bis heute
sein Lieblingsinstrument ist und die
er immer noch regelmäßig spielt.
Neben seiner klassisch-musischen Ausbildung kam TOBI TOBERMANN schon früh mit Techno in
Kontakt. Im Jahr 1995 hörte er zum ersten Mal die bekannte „HR3-Clubnight“ und sein erstes,
bahnbrechendes Set des weltberühmten DJs „Sven Väth“. Bis heute stellt dieser seinen größten
elektronischen Einfluss dar. Darüber hinaus weckte Väth in ihm die Liebe zu der Stadt Frankfurt am
Main, in der TOBI TOBERMANN seit 2007 lebt und arbeitet. Abgesehen von Sven Väth wurde er
musikalisch insbesondere von dem französischen Acid- und Tranceproduzenten „Emmanuel Top“,
dem Liveact „Alter Ego“ sowie dem auf elektronische Tanzmusik spezialisierten Radiosender
„Evosonic“ und dessen Moderator „Chris Liebing“ inspiriert. Heutzutage veröffentlicht Evosonic
regelmäßig Sets von TOBI TOBERMANN.
1997 kam er zum ersten Mal in den Genuss, einen DJ live Techno auflegen zu hören. Zu den Clubs,
die ihn stark geprägt haben, gehört vor allem das legendäre „U60311“ in Frankfurt am Main. Selbst an
den Plattenspielern stand er zum ersten Mal im Jahr 1998 (natürlich Technics); seinen ersten eigenen
Technotrack „baute“ er vier Jahre später. Lange war er aktiver Part in der Technoszene, doch seine
berufliche Laufbahn brachte ihn schließlich vom eigentlichen Treiben ab. Dennoch blieb Techno stets
seine große Leidenschaft. Nach vielen Jahren der „Abstinenz“ steht er seit 2020 wieder aktiv an den
Decks. Dabei präferiert er das digitale Auflegen mit CDJs und produziert auch wieder eigene Tracks.
Seine Styles reichen von „(High-Tech-) Minimal“, hin zu „Techno“ und seinem Hauptfach „Acid“. Seit
2021 supported er offiziell bei Mixcloud „Boris Brejcha“ und dessen Label „FCKNG SERIOUS“.
Sage und schreibe 20 Sets erreichten den ersten Platz in den globalen Charts bei „Mixcloud“ – und
das in nur einem Jahr. Man darf also gespannt sein, wie es mit TOBI TOBERMANN weitergeht.

As the founder & head of Stadtpalava Records, he has built a platform for straight, uncompromising techno, releasing tracks from international artists since 2021. He is also the head of "Hafenkante Open Air". An open and tolerant techno festival on a shipyard site on the Baltic Sea.

After a long break and a move from Berlin to Northern Germany, she is back. Recharged. Curios.
