05 Two Way Mirror

Yuega, pseudonym used by Nicolò Stefanelli, a Bologna-based (IT) DJ and Producer.

Started years before the 2020 pandemic, releasing limited-edition DIY tapes.
His music is an updated version of the 80’s electronic experiments, a crossover between the paranoia of the current clubbing scene and the roots of electronic music. A journey into an underground world, filled by nostalgic impulses and modern concepts.
Now he lurks in the lowest depths of the Italian Underground.

For this podcast, he's assembled an intense dark selection of Electro, Industrial and Synthwave tracks.

Sequenced in Ableton; triggered the following hardware with the APC40 mkII: SH-101, SC Pro-One, TR-8s, and Analog Keys. This is actually for a split release and will likely not be up for long. I'll probably add some samples to it as an afterthought.

Automaton Emotions

Something different and special for Dungeon Module 008, Timothy J. Fairplay invites artists he admires both new and established for music on Working Overtime Volume One. The compilation begins with ‘Master Blaster’ by RZ-1 warrior and REALM resident Oyster, then Alex Israel keeps up the jackbeat intensity with ‘You Forgot The Briefcase’. Chupacabras is next with pressure building Thanet party electro jam ‘OFF Planet’. Hope Of The States frontman Sam Herlihy debuts his electronic project Total Mathematics with the cinematic ‘Warningcamp’ to close the side. ‘Set Phasers To Stun’ starts side B, analogue house by Computerdisco constructed in a workshop of vintage synths overlooking the Bristol Channel. Timothy first met Rebecca Goldberg playing at Tresor, ‘URNOTALONE’ is hypnotic Minimal Nation style Detroit techno featuring field recordings from her recent trip to Roswell. Alan Harman appears with ‘Blast Zone’ in his instantly recognisable and unparalleled cold wave style. Timothy J. Fairplay finishes the album with the lo-fi synth, melodica and Space Echo of ‘Night Warden Dub’.

Hailing from Raw Culture, Anna Funk Damage returns with his third release on the Roman label, delivering a record as fierce as it is intimate. Tarantola was born out of a winter suspended between contrasting emotions – melancholy, anger, love, confusion – distilled into a sound that transforms personal fragility into collective energy. There’s no pursuit of perfection here, but rather an urgency running through the veins, taking shape across supersonic punk, wave, ambient and industrial.
Each track is an emotional fragment, a bite that leaves its mark: from the electric tension of Vivere Distaccati to the feverish rush of Trasmissione, from the rawness of Decadente to the hypnotic title track Tarantola, which embodies the beating heart of the album. Side B unfolds into more nocturnal and intimate landscapes, from Chiang Mai to the disenchanted sincerity of Lavoro Troppo, closing with a party that carries the bittersweet taste of reality. R.i.O. welcomes a member. Straight in full length. An album created by Dorsten, North-Rhine-Westfalia based producer Aroma Von Troisdorf - a man who refuses to be put in a box. Unlike others, who politely stay in one lane, he is a tuneful shape shifter. Already his 2021 debut on the Cologne based label Papercup Records smashed Krautrock, Synth-pop, Electro, Ambient, and dub together. His 2023 and 2024 Papercup Ep’s "Buttergolem" and "Rodeln am Rhein" added Italo-Disco, Synth-pop and a drop of experimental Electro to his versatility. Now eight new creations, brilliantly composed, yet - even in odd flashes - effortlessly catchy. They bring once more a stylistic melting pot, now enlarged with The Cure-ish dreamscapes, stretching over guitar riffs and bass grooves, like in the closing ambient-folk star “Zeiten” or the dreamy opening track “Fog Frog Green”. There is the motorik krautrock pulse of “Osmopower”, that boogies heavy in drum machine hypnosis under Aroma’s entrancing new-wave vocals. Tunes like “Dreams Unfold” or “Amplify Shrooms” are likewise propulsive, each one psyching in its very own rhythmic sector. More voices are present too. In the two-minute manic preacher “Colas”, were Togolese rapper and political activist Yao Bobby chants edgy. Or in “Closer”, where singer Aprico sends spoken-word trances echoing through the cosmic jacking. And there is “Lovers Lake”, a hypnotic drift of witchy vocals, bluesy chords, and endless synthscapes, that makes you swim on your feed. Shift the shapes, “Blaumilch” opens the gates.
