Somewhere along the line, we were doing a party with our favourite honourary Parisienne, the first lady of Bromance - Louisahhh!!! , and she played us a few tracks while were were crusing down the freeway, en route to the party. These tracks totally blew our mind. And here, friends, is where we get to fate. It turns out that these tracks that we loved so much were actually written by an Aussie in LA by the name of Craig Williams, which meant that we could definitely release them. Lou has lent her distinctive vocals to both tracks. Rawhide is a low-slung dark-room big-vibe burner, and Chip A Tooth makes us all think of wasted days at Watergate in Berlin. It’s a trans-cultural dancenational celebration of hedonism, built for exacting dancefloors and demanding disco jockeys. We vibe. We think that you will too.

Somewhere along the line, we managed to get chatting with our favourite New Jack Techno kingpin, JoeFarr. It kind of made sense for him to get involved and rework the tracks in his own, distinctive, banging manner. He delivered us two EPIC tracks. On, Off - you decide what works for you. Our kingpins of chopped and screwed technofunk, CSMNT61, have put their distinctive touch on Rawhide, too.

OVERVIEW:
Whilst mystery continues to cloak the artist Sawf, there’s nothing clandestine about the Greek’s bold and inventive take on techno that has been accruing on Perc Trax over the last few years. Pushing the label’s industrial founds to new and unexpected heights, records to date including a particularly versatile debut full length, ‘Flaws’ have seen funk infusions, disco undertones and gritty ambient interludes all nestled amidst a splay of low slung to full throttle and barefaced floor material one has come to expect from Ali Wells’ stable. After a pretty quiet year, marked by a solitary release for new label Modal Analysis entitled ‘Sand EP’, comes the first new work for M_Rec Ltd, “Skotos”, backed by remixes from modern Berlin bastions Milton Bradley and Henning Baer.

Once again looped vocal stabs take the lead in Sawf’s original version of “Skotos”, guiding us through plied atmospherics together with soft, seductive pulsework with unhurried poise over a charged nine-plus minutes to finish in shady inconclusiveness that leaves you begging for more. On the B-side Milton Bradley offers a toughened up and industrialised remix complete with cranky mechanical misdemeanours, while K209 partner Henning Baer patches the space between with rumbling basement bass, vocal overlays, dry hats and rough edges to round off the EP

KILLEKILL 012 is being delivered by Dubliner EOMAC, aka Ian McDonnell, aka half of LAKKER, who has proven himself as one producer to watch. His sound design is extreme and unique. He creates dense atmospheres and fills them with subtle melodic elements, that are being pushed forward by heavy basslines and markable kick drums. With club play by no less than Aphex Twin, EOMAC is a name that is on the verge of exploding onto the scene.
The title track SPOOCK is a killer of a techno track, that will literally destroy all dancefloors with its mental kickdrum and psyched out melody.
A2 track STYLISED & DESENSITISED is the track that has been played out by Aphex Twin. With its dark atmosphere and the subtle groove it develops its abstract appeal.
The B-side starts with a remix of SPOOCK by Stroboscopic Artefacts label boss LUCY who took away some of the aggressiveness of the original and focussed on the deeper side of the track to turn it into an almost 9 min long techno epos.
B2 track NO NAME is a deep, bass driven masterpiece of abstract dance music. It shows the introverted side of EOMAC and therewith gives the EP what it needs to make it an outstanding, typical KILLEKILL release.
