Otherwise Records presents 'Can't Sleep', the new EP by Fran Bortolossi and Victor Penteado, featuring a remix by Kolombo. The release brings together two central strands of the label's catalog, bridging Minimal and Deep Tech with the rhythmic sensibility of Indie Dance. The collaboration establishes a dialogue between different generations and perspectives within the imprint, combining the curatorial experience of its founders with the dancefloor-driven approach that defines Victor Penteado's trajectory. On the original version of 'Can't Sleep', Fran and Victor shape the track around a structured groove, continuous sub-bass and synth lines that reference the aesthetics of 90s acid house, maintaining tension without relying on predictable resolutions. Kolombo's remix preserves the core of the composition while reshaping its dynamics through subtle shifts and timbral variation, expanding its scope by introducing vocals and pads that draw the track closer to the Indie Dance spectrum. On 'Clock Tick', the duo adopts a more expansive direction, driven by a steady pulse, refined timbres and melodic insertions that gradually reshape the perception of the arrangement. 'Can't Sleep' reinforces Otherwise's identity through three tracks operating within a shared aesthetic framework, grounded in consistent creative decisions and close attention to how sound behaves on the dancefloor.
