Hermit is a musical setting of a poem by Neil Aitken, written by Daniel Gall in the Spring of 2011.  This piece, scored for cello and voice, is the second of three songs known collectively as "Aitken Settings."  The recording is from the premiere of the work on November 12, 2011, presented by Synchromy, and featuring Christopher Ahn, cello, and Jackie M. Hayes, mezzo-soprano.
