This is a set I recently played for the regen·era rising summit:
a super cool global confluence for creators of regenerative futures, in the inaugural celebration of a decade-long global movement bringing together (r)Evolutionary creators, systems thinkers and organizations - to imagine, collaborate and co-create a world that works for 100% of life!
The Design Science Studio is an educational incubator for art that empowers creators to imagine a regenerative future. The Vision Train stage was a virtual platform for artists, dancers and me (the dj) to collaborate real time and create a memorable flow of art, movement and music.

Our bodies, shaped like stars, exist as a five-fold geometry. Through the power of sound and the power of movement, we are fully capable of invoking and radiating light by opening the pentragram. Through the practice of mantra, mudra, asana, pranayama and meditation, you can open your body, free your heart, and liberate your mind.

I had made the vocal for this track almost two years and didn’t know what to do with it. It sounds like a bunch of cows participating in a Gregorian chant, and it didn’t fit ANYWHERE. Fast forward to 5 months ago, and I was playing around with the Ableton Push. It’s a brilliant improvisational composition toy, and while trying to understand dancehall riddims… I made the skeleton of the beat. On a whim I added the cow chant to it, listened to it once, and then showed up on Taylor’s doorstep with this weird sketch… but no where to go with it. Taylor, bless his heart, was completely unfazed at how strange everything was and took it to the next level. Outside of Golden Lotus, this song was the fastest one to come together.

2. Golden Lotus

This song represents the turning point for Synchromystica. Prior, we had a skeleton of songs, but Golden Lotus literally came together in four hours, and then before we knew it, we had a single. I invited my friend Dar Sernoff to come over, and he flipped out. From seeing his reaction, it was pretty clear we were onto something good, and the goal for the EP (and their live show) solidified. Fun Trivia: Taylor has this jaw-harp sitting around his studio, and we recorded it in one take to put little vibe-bombs throughout the “get down” section… There’s a part, right before a major drop where Taylor accidentally hit his teeth and says “Ow” right into the mic. I’m not one to pass up a fun mistake, and took that “Ow” and pitch-shifted it down. It happens only once, and it’s perfect.
