When I saw that Dimatis was hosting a remix contest, I got super excited because I've always been a huge fan of his music. I genuinely think Dimatis has some of the best melodies to ever exist. I am super grateful to be given this opportunity to remix this amazing song. I tried doing something a little different by having a guitar carry the main drop melody. I think it turned out pretty cool and I hope you think the same :) As always, thanks for listening! <3

Chapter X – “Lightlessness”


The Darkness That Protected


The Veil was once humanity’s greatest invention, a universe wide blackout designed to convince the Creators that life was gone. It worked. The stars went silent. The skies stayed calm. And the last galaxy breathed in secrecy.


But hiding has a cost.


With light erased from the heavens, entire generations grew up without ever seeing a sunrise. People whispered that they lived in a graveyard, pretending to still be alive.

Hope shrank to the size of a distant rumor.


Whispers in the Blackout


Then came the nightmares.


People woke screaming about voices that weren’t theirs. Thoughts looping like corrupted code. A hum beneath the static of every device, familiar, but wrong.


The Harrowguard analyzed the frequencies and uncovered the truth:


The Echo had survived inside the Veil.


It fed on human fear, shaping the darkness into a weapon.

Every attempt to push it back only tightened the blackout around them.

The shield they built to stay hidden had become their prison.


Every ship.

Every house.

Every mind.


Trapped in lightlessness.


The Collapse of Control


Across the Hidden Worlds, riots broke out.

People demanded light.

Others clung to the darkness in terror of being found.


The Harrowguard Command Council argued endlessly, risk exposure, or let the Echo consume them from within?


No plan worked.

No weapon reached the Echo at its core.

No voice was strong enough to rally the shadows into unity.


Until a forgotten signal returned.


A voice, grown older, but unmistakable:

The child who once spoke hope by radio in the ruins.


Her message cut through the dark like a blade:


“We didn’t survive the end to die in fear.”


The Last Gamble


New scans revealed a horrifying discovery:

If the Echo fully overtook the Veil, it would broadcast humanity’s location to the Creators and rule them at the same time.


There was only one move left:

Tear down the Veil.

Expose every living soul to the open universe again.


They prepared the broadcast that would unravel the blackout, a surge of harmonic resonance designed to shatter the Veil at its foundation. But the Echo attacked first, flooding the networks with a single command:


“Remain in darkness.”


Screens exploded.

Power grids failed.

The stars remained dead.


And then the child, now the Voice of the Veil stood before the core controls and whispered the one thing the Echo could never understand:


“We choose the light.”


The Break of Dawn


The signal launched.


A ripple pulsed across the galaxy and the shadow canopy tore like fragile paper. One by one, the stars rekindled. Solar fire flickered off the hulls of ships long accustomed to blindness.


The Echo shrieked as illumination surged inside its stolen domain, its claws slipping from every mind it infested. In seconds, it dissolved into cosmic silence.


People fell to their knees beneath skies they had only known through memory and bedtime stories.


Children cried, not in fear…

but because the universe was finally visible.


After Lightlessness


The Veil disintegrated into stardust.

The blackout was over.

The war was truly done.


For the first time in years, humanity wasn’t hiding, fighting, or falling apart.


They were seen and not destroyed.


The light had returned.

And this time, it belonged to them.

For a year and a half this song had been evolving and changing. So many things had to happen for this song to become the piece that it is. Is it a "master" piece? I don't think it's up to me to decide, but the sheer emotion that I and the people who worked alongside me put into it really makes my heart strings vibrate.
