So, for context, Hexa Vibes, a good friend of mine, decided to gather his community of producers and organise this contest called the "Random Collab Contest" (RCC for short). In short, the premise of it is that he puts all the participants on a wheel, spins it twice, and the 2 people that got randomly picked back to back get to collab on a song and submit it for the contest (obviously, Hexa made sure that there's an even number of participants before starting the contest lol).
This instalment of RCC had a theme, pre-made artwork and even commissioned vocals for us to work with. Granted, some people thought the vocals weren't very good, but, in my humble opinion, with the right execution and in the right context, they sounded pretty nice. The theme for this RCC was centered around a "yandere" (if you don't know what that means, google it).
It sounded pretty fun, and since, at the time, I'd never actually committed to collaborating with someone on a tune before, I decided to give it a try. I ended up getting paired up with Selene, who, apparently, got last place on the first volume of RCC (forgot to mention that this song is a submission for RCC Vol. 2 lol). Hearing that, I was determined to help her get a higher placement this time around. I felt like I'd totally set myself up for failure, but it turns out that, in the end, we got first place. I was ecstatic when I first heard the news, and so was Selene. I can't thank Hexa and enough for giving me this opportunity to shine among many talented producers in his community. I also have to thank Selene for being an awesome, optimistic collab partner and sticking with me 'till the very end, since this was 2 months of nothing but blood, sweat and tears. Once again, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU, HEXA AND SEL! <3
