House Music has always been blessed with some of the greatest vocalists ever to serenade the dance floor. Following in that rich tradition and influenced by both her DJ Father, USA-based Singer Songwriter LaMay has always been a fan of the club and it shows in her most recent releases. 2022 was the year where she devoted much of her time to developing a House groove, and now in 2023, one of her previous singles titled ‘The Destination’ gets a serious reboot from DJ Producer David Carrera aka Carrera (UK).

The original was a Disco Funk Soul-infused slow burn that showcased a vocal prowess that was effervescent, complex and gloriously intoxicating. When the song came to the attention of Carrera, he seized the opportunity to give it a dedicated re-rub with some of that deep four-on-the-floor special sauce. Turning up the BPM and adding jacked up beats, dynamic keys, funky guitars and a rounded bass, Carrera also gave LaMay the space that allowed her vocals to sit majestically above the track.

When you consider that her heroes include Martha Wash, Barbara Tucker, Thelma Houston, Zola Dowdell and so many more vocalists that set the world ablaze, it is hardly surprising that her voice sits so well alongside Carrera’s arrangement.

Inspired by countless nights in the Mojo Club, Hamburg in the early 2000s. Timbhai's first release on sync.records is a cover version of the brilliant track "Ivano Fossati & Oscar Prudente - Tema Del Lupo / Al Foster Band - The Night Of The Wolf" from 1973. The general vibe of the original was deliberately retained. Nevertheless, Timbhai was able to incorporate his own touch and deliver a great Disco / Nu Disco version of this classic.
