With strong releases on Anjunadeep, 20:20Vision, Phonica and most recent House Of Youth, he continues to create emotionally charged, elevating music, channeling his love of various contrasting genres into his compositions.

The past couple of years have seen Kuzmin’s influence grow with releases consistently reaching millions of streams, garnering support from like-minded producers, and receiving regular radio play on BBC Radio 1.

There's a lot of Pressure In the Building (Full Album Mix)

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there was a genre called techno. I remember going to see all the greats, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, and many more. I love the music these legends made, with incredible melodies and when DJing they layered the tracks with a hands-on mixing style. But even with the newer, almost unrecognizable forms of techno today, classic "Detroit" techno never really went away. It can be confusing how dance genres change over the years. The old adage is true, the only thing that is consistent in life is change. Some musical elements come back, other sounds are taken from different genres, and what's old is new again. This mix in front of you is modern melodic techno, a kind of homage to the old school.

In the 90's I played a lot of trance and progressive, which originally came from the original techno of the early 90's. But this isn't the first time I have DJ'ed techno with a melodic quality. Just after y2k I transitioned into a new genre we called tech trance. Sasha used to call it trance with a small "t." These days when you look through the charts from back then it's all been put in the progressive house folder, but it was originally a distinct genre onto itself. In 2002 I did a track with Seed called Chlorine Shots" that was a good example of tech trance. Most dance music was way faster back then, but there are other differences between the old 90's techno, 2000's tech trance and the 2020's melodic techno. Detroit techno was always very lush, but tech trance melodies were restrained, and it didn't quite have that same thump from old techno. Today's melodic tech house or techno swings from minimalism to epic sounds. What makes it differ from other melodic genres of organic house, trance and progressive is that there's less use of the house "cats and boots," and it usually has that mighty 808 kick. Because techno has been around from the beginning of dance music, there's quite a range of different drum parts in the melodic stuff, even with the occasional 303 wobble. 

I got three turntables going for this mix, something that techno really lends itself to. Enjoy!
