Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the month of September by showcasing new interpretations of ‘Salted Caramel' by Pedro Capelossi. With a production career that spans just over half a decade, Pedro Capelossi has quickly emerged from Spain's avant-garde electronic music landscape. The Brazilian born, Barcelona based artist has forged a distinctive sound which focuses on inventive use of atmosphere and rhythm, drawing the lines between global dance cultures without adhering to any fixed formula. From progressive minded roots, Pedro's sonic palette evolved into one with greater organic depth and broader usability overall, ultimately finding a home on Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas, a label where he has notched eight discography credits. Sound Avenue would also become a regular landing spot for Pedro's creations, beginning with the Madloch & Subnode collaborative project ‘Turmeric Latte'. It was this meeting of the minds which ultimately set the course for a creative swell, one which saw Pedro go on to release seven originals and two remixes across the next two calendar years for the Belgian imprint. With the year getting underway with ‘Salted Caramel', a four-track showcase of solo productions, Sound Avenue now invites Luis León, Jelly for the Babies, Eric Louis and Konomo to re-imagine the EP in their own inimitable styles.

Having grown up in North East Philly (Mayfair), summer block parties were always a thing. This mixtape is something I've been wanting to do ever since I learned how to Dj 10 years ago. It's a collection of my parents records and digital tunes that made me think of those block parties that I looked forward to with bittersweetness, when our block had our party, school was just around the corner. Brooklyn based label, Razor-N-Tape, has been pumping out delicious selections of contemporary house music since 2012. They’re back to tease our end of summertime sadness with one last block party banger. However, this time around they have relied on beats from across the pond – London-based producer Alistair Gibbs, better known as Nebraska, to be exact. Like many of our favorite house artists, Nebraska comes from the golden age of sample-based hip hop, making him well-suited for utilizing soulful excerpts in developing his funk-filled discography. The latest addition in his long list of tracks that stretch back to the early 90s is an original titled Usin’ Me, which features remixes from the likes of Lovebirds, The Revenge, and someone who we are lucky to feature below.

Harlem native, DJ Nature hops on a remix of Nebraska’s “Usin’ Me” to remind us that summer’s never over. Traveling through a smoldering baseline, DJ Nature goes deep into the jungle. His slowed down percussion-rich rework vibrates. Chimes, shimmering snares, and rattling hats gleam through the heavy atmosphere of the track. Shakers become rattling snakes and the borrowed squelches start to sound like bird calls over this airy bongo groove. Whether you're in the forest or on your walk to the train, DJ Nature is sure to ease you gently into the approaching chill.
