One of the UK’s freshest new drum & bass talents drops his debut solo single on Critical, this one is simple mammoth! Emperor has been making waves over the past couple of years moonlighting with various camps but it was the keen ear of label boss Kasra that cottoned on early drawing him deep into the Critical ranks. If this new single is anything to go by, one of the best decisions Critical could have made.

Back again and fresh for 2018 Synesthezia Bass brings us another set of collaborative gems from GDS and Luca Synesthezia.  Two different but equally accomplished productions help kick off a good-looking year from the Madrid based imprint. 
 
The A-side “Someone Like You” is a modern-sounding slice of liquid drum and bass featuring the sultry vocals of the highly talented Tiece. Her exquisite vocals glide in seamlessly over punchy kicks, evocative pads and powerful sub-bass grooves. Soulful and yet powerful this is certainly one for the heads.
 
On the flip side is an altogether more progressive but equally enticing deep drum-laden roller. “Better Late Than Never” emerges like a beast from the shadows with sweeping atmospherics, vocal stabs and evolving synth arps.  Growling bass stabs and shuffling snappy breaks enter the equation to keep us truly hooked throughout.
