Native Bay Area vocalist Adesha first delved into the neon-lit chambers of modern synth funk in 2019 with the release of her single "Just Groove," a collaboration with Australian DJ/producer Vincent Kwok. Fast forward one rotation around the sun, and you will find her in the company of Sleepers Recordz for her next foray into the genre, "The Secret" & "Satisfied With My Love?"

Working with Kwok again on production, both of these tunes allow you to stay warm under a comfortable blanket of nostalgia, via the use of familiar keyboards, plus DMX and 808 drum sounds. The synth work might evoke thoughts of Kashif or Jam & Lewis from the SOS Band era, yet Adesha's sultry vocals may give you a feeling more akin to 90's R&B. It's a pleasant pairing, made even more so with a contemporary sense of arrangement that allows this duo of songs to fly well beyond simply playing on a listener's memories of the past. In short, the influences are clear but Adesha puts a brand new spin on the sound. And so the funk continues.

Sleepers adds another volume to their latest run of limited edition vinyl, with "The Secret" & "Satisfied With My Love?" pressed as a run of only 100, on blue colored wax.
