I slowed it down and tried to get more atmospheric and cinematic today. Same basic process and setup as yesterday. volca sample 2 drums, SH-101 bass, volca bass bleep bloops, volca keys melody, Prophet live playing.

Jamuary 2024 - Day 5 - One Too Many Beers

I started today’s #Jamuary track with sound recordings I made yesterday of wooden and metal clothes hangers knocking about in the wardrobe. After making a rhythm out of those I layered on recordings of mud squelching and noise from a cassette tape. I thought it might be interesting to try a spoken word vocal over this so I found an old public domain recording of a science fiction show from the radio and started chopping bits out and fitting it to the track. Lastly I added some doom-laden synths and panned all the tracks for a nice wide stereo effect.
