This is a great and VERY inspiring track! I also like your reasoning here and it is very enlightening. Maybe one could look at it also by saying that we are constantly practicing.. to reach "excellence".. the fulfillment of the "ultimate purpose" of our being here (be it called "happiness" or by some other name).. In this way we could maybe also say that this is also close to the thinking of e.g. Aristotle.. and that in the end we are always in search of that "highest good" of human existence..

noxpox - Vibraphony Nr 1 (crazy train mix)

Another track inspired by "The Wake", a post apocalyptic novel by Paul Kingsnorth.

Buccmaster and his friends visit a village untouched by the Norman invasion. They participate in a village celebration, which Buccmaster looks back on as the very last joyful day. Even so, everyone there fears for the future.

I used my Flamenco guitar again... but economically, my early versions were too Iberian!

This is actually the first track I recorded by myself since early 4-track recordings decades ago. Recorded at the start of lockdown on an iPad before I discovered Ableton; cleaned up in 2023 for a new airing. Always saw it as a sonic future-scape that is a little rough around the edges but worth sharing again.

El Futuro Es...

I saw a news report that Ryuichi Sakamoto has raised his voice in favor of reconsidering the redevelopment of the Meiji Jingu Gaien district, despite his health declining to the point where continuing music production is difficult. I can relate to this, as I have experienced times when I had no energy or motivation to make music during illness. Even Ryuichi Sakamoto feels that way, which is very sad.
The meaning of the kanji for music is divided into "on" and "gaku," with "on" meaning sound and "gaku" meaning "enjoyable, pleasant." The phrase "music is written as enjoying sound" is a familiar saying. Music can be both enjoyable and sad, but I believe that the act of creating music is, in a way, a positive experience that allows us to feel alive. Even if it is a sad song, when we create it, we are trying to overcome that sadness and become more positive. Music may indeed be powerless, but the power to create it comes from within, and that is something we must be grateful for today.
