Lifka is a berlin-based techno DJ, producer and live-act. His hardware-based live- sets combine tactile grooves, trancy elements and acidic melodies to form a highly conductive solution for body and mind. The young artist keeps a delightful and unique balance between melodies and sound textures, maneuvering from light to shadow, from gentle to hard. He‘s a part of the Voxnox fam, a resident at renowned PAL nightclub and a member of the DJ collective Vinka Katt. As a producer, Lifka has shown his versatility with outstanding releases on Voxnox, Space Trax, Eradys Records, Mitsu2000, Vector Functions, Ohne kommerziellen Wert, Vitus‘ Curse and many more.

As we all know, there really is no shortage of artists in the vast field of electronic music, especially in the German capitol of Techno that is Berlin. They come and go with trends and seasons, build their hypes, and eventually vanish into the social medial void our postmodern times have created. However, there are those ones which stand out, which stay stuck in the eyes and ears of the public, which play and produce themselves in the collective memory of our community. Tham is one of those. As resident and face of underground public favourites like SYNOID, Revier Südost, and Lebendig, in just a few years the young artist has proven that he’s one to stay, to watch and to listen to. Growing up on the dancefloors of Berlin – figuratively speaking – Tham’s artistic vision hails from and is always directed back to that very place which represents the crux of the matter of our entire subculture. His interpretation of Techno, his musical vision, lives on his drive to set people in motion. Pounding bass drums, complex grooves, and aggressive synth lines lashing through the crowd, taking their hypnotic effect. This is what Tham provides. Music ex machina, coming out of nowhere, binding the eyes, ears, and bodies of his audience to the floor, to the very present, sticking to their brains, billowing through their minds for hours, long after they’ve left the club.

Two like-minded shadows scouring through the night, distorted sounds hailing from the void, obscure images emerging out of the dark – a new musical formation has risen from the edge of our postmodern world: OVERDRIVE.

The musical duo, consisting of Synoid’s THAM and the Destroy To Rebuild head VII CIRCLE, have arrived to deliver some sorely needed sonic clarity to the raving nation. Processing the aching zeitgeist of this decade, the two artists have combined their technical craft and musical vision to create an artistic body of work second to few. Distorting sounds into a gaping pit of overwhelming sonic force, bending rhythms into patterns of ecstasy, multiplying harmonies, grooving them into the very present – OVERDRIVE is the name of the game.

What should you expect? – Unapologetic DJ sets, driven by an unquenchable thirst for rave. DJing, not understood as a blunt sequencing of matching records, but as building up musical narrations. Telling the stories of our youth, not with words but with synth lines, high hats, snares, and a hell of a lot of bass drum. Converting sonic energy into physical movement, transforming pain for a broken world into the blissful ecstasy of the night
