Slim Shae (@slimshaemusic), a native and true representative of Manchester, steps up for the latest edition of Reptoid Radio with a vinyl only, dark and dirty electro mix showing his penchant for chopping and blending tunes and his top quality track selection.

With some honourable experience under his belt, playing numerous times at the likes of Wire Club, Leeds, Shae continues to push his free-flowing, genre-hopping sound across the UK -  but notably, Shae has expanded his reach beyond local borders, securing his first international booking in Belgium and recently played in countries such as Mexico, Nicaragua, and Colombia while travelling through Latin America.

At just 24 years old, he is the founder of his own independent record label, @bricksweatrecords, which has been making waves in the electronic music scene. Similar to his DJ style, the record label continues to push a variety of genres from both up-and-coming and well-known artists from across the world. 

If you like what you hear, tonight (7th August) also marks the end of Brick Sweat's residency on Manchester's Unity Radio 92.8FM - tune in 11pm till 1am if you're up for a party. Big tip from the Lizard Tapes crew on this. 

Brick Sweat has a bright future ahead of it, with a load of releases scheduled in the months ahead. Shae also hopes to run a party series in the future - so Manchester locals keep your eyes peeled for announcements.

Mexican artist Rodman dives deep on his Falcata EP for Ineffable Records, containing five club-ready tracks, with sound textures being the focus, and a remix from WVWV head honcho Octoptic. Following on from the success of his debut La Fragua which featured fellow Mexican, Nico (Timedance/Grid).

The record's title comes from the name of an ancient sword, which is quite apt as the sharp sound-design & impressive perc work slices through the EP from start to finish. It fluctuates between moods, touching on the deeper, dubbed out & echoed sounds of Rodman's palette, and moving swiftly into complex rhythmic patterns that were definitely built with the club in mind. Thus providing the perfect blend between enjoyable listening and being weapons for the dance floor.

Being one of Mexico City's superb up and coming producers, Rodman continues his perfect streak of releases to date with this breathtaking release. Finding itself on a label that shines a light on Mexican artists, it just feels like a perfect match.

On December 26, Kyiv-based label Iriy Records releases Lowlands — a compilation that captures two years of the label’s work through experimental Ukrainian bass music. It works as both a snapshot of the scene and a link between Iriy’s earlier releases and what comes next.

The compilation brings together artists closely connected to Iriy’s journey, including Geyera, whose album Wolfram was released on the label in 2024. Rather than a showcase of isolated tracks, Lowlands feels like a shared space — different approaches to bass music tied together by a common sense of tension, texture, and low-end focus.
