As an artist we have held in high regard at Dispatch since the label’s inception, it comes with great pleasure to introduce our first release with the legendary Digital. 

Shaping his unique sound for over 15 years (still heavily cited by a core of forward thinking producers today), Digital is continuously developing his original strain of dub influenced d&b and this release demonstrates a manipulation of his roots into a modern twist. Ingrained with an authentic old skool feel that has remaining entrenched in the Digital sound we love today, each track on this release has been constructed and layered carefully, to ensure all the initial emotions and vibe are firmly translated and expressed in the final product. 

Despite their distinct differences, this soul and attention to detail remains consistent throughout. Starting with the distinctive strings in ‘Red Alert’, the track maintains a very haunting, yet emotive feel, all balanced atop a skipping drum pattern of dub-echoed snares and a subtle bassline. 

Following on from the lead track, ’A Message’ continues the dark and brooding themes, as the master of half time delivers a thick spread of heavyweight pressure. Marching into the shadowy depths with intrepid force, the villain prevails in this scene, as the low ends take full control beyond the drop.

Concluding on a retrospective tip is ‘Maintain’, written alongside Audio Habitat and Mad Vibes. Directed by majestic piano chords, it’s a fantastic blend of percussive and musical elements, equipped with smartly chopped amen cuts and abridged bass throbs teasing throughout, all coinciding to create a true uplifting rave style stepper.

Emanuele Porcinai's research and experimentation mainly concerns aural architecture and natural reverberation, and the creative use of these in compositional practice. 
On this debut for Contort, marking the labels fifth release, he produces four pieces of truly original work and crosses boundaries between industrial, techno, classical and more.
Porcinai recently showcased his work on the main stage at this years Berlin Atonal festival.

Welcome to our first spotlight feature, we introduce you Thruster from Copenhagen, Denmark. 

"Endless" straight from the 0.00 mark we our presented with an intensely sinister atmosphere. Muffled voices send shivers down are spine until we are greeted with an interesting beat and ominous bell sounds that lead us to the drop. Haunting growls and slow rumbling drums drag us into the depths - only adding to the horrifyingly gloomy mood. 

"Spectral" a perfect contrast to the last roller, remarkably light plucks fill the mood soon to be joined a steppy beat and a pressing sub ,so early on we cannot catch a break from the weight. Thruster drops this track in full force with some deadly slow panning square waves that become mesmerizing. 

"Engineered" the perfect way to end such an emotional experience. A glorifying pad sets the final tone that is accompanied by perfectly crafted risers and down lifters. We thoughtfully drift towards the 0.54 mark a huge thumping sub takes control followed by pounding kick drums. This is a truly splendid way to end such a journey. 

We'd like to thank Thruster for this magnificent EP and we all hope you enjoy it.
