Some words about the creation of "Country House"
The track "Country House" merits its' name. It is directly related as to the "house in the village", so to a "village" House music. Mostly, this record appeared thanks to the respected member of the Union of Composers of Russia, Alexander Rogachov, a disciple of the great composer Gniessin. One day he provided SYNTETICA rare phonograms, recorded decades ago on the reel in the Russian heartland, and threw out a challenge. He wondered whether it was possible that old Russian cultural heritage, with such a specific sound, to revive in ultra modern sound?
At first, it was perceived as a joke. Choral chants, piercing sounds of gusli (an ancient Russian instrument, something close to "a harp"), ethnic moods, all of that had nothing to do with modern sound, and it seemed almost impossible to accept that challenge. But curiosity of Max Adams, his sound-engineering professional skills and unquenchable thirst for hard-executable tasks only fueled his interest.
Max selected specific, unique samples: lively harps and grannies' recitatives, pontificating of "worthlessness" of youth music culture. It took him incredible time, creativity, knowledge of sound synthesis, along with a fine sense of style, to turn this old set into the smash hit! The rich gusli timbre was formed by combining of 10 votes from various synthesizers; grannies were subjected to granular synthesis; the background was filled with unusual for modern music rattles, castanets, tambourines, ethnic drums, etc... The dancing mood and power were inherited from the guitar by Yury Lisin (a guitarist of SYNTETICA ORG). At the end of the track you can hear the original samples of gusli and vocals, which formed the basis of the composition.
"Country House" has taken a worthy place in the band's discography, as it fully matches the style of "SYNTETICA ORG", mixing live and electronic sound. As their other works, this track is filled up through the entire frequency range. Their records can be compared with a picture of an artist, where every inch of the canvas filled out and there is no empty space. SYNTETICA follows the same principle: an accomplished piece of music should not look like a sketch. Like an artist's work, it must be painted from edge to edge.
And, of course, "eclecticism", so beloved by the band, is the main motif of this music work. Combination of incongruous; mixture of styles; unique, miscellaneous and rich sound - that's what sets "SYNTETICA ORG" apart among musicians of our time.
The track "Country House" has an important mission. It proves that music is timeless and knows no boundaries. It unites the era, culture, traditions and innovations, and revives the cultural heritage in a clear interpretation for the modern audience.

Marine Voyager - a long voyage

The creation of this track made me good to answer many questions. Working on that, I got the picture where I’m gonna move in my future works. Rare music is fully impregnated with a single idea ... But «Marine Voyager» is precisely of that kind of thing. This track is about a water-craft. It completely immerses you in the atmosphere of a long voyage. It reveals a rich and realistic world, where nothing is by accident: a rasp of an old vessel’s deck, the sounds of anchor chains, the wind, the waves, the seagulls and sailor talks on the radio ... It could be a long story about everything, but it does not convey all the feelings that you experience while listening. I'd been preparing for this sound for a long time. In the process, I managed to collect hundreds of thematic sounds, each of them revealed the sea theme. As I’ve mentioned before, there is nothing accidental. Each sound embodies the character, the strength and the spirit of the ocean element. Listening to the sounds, you can imagine how a huge ponderous ship is calmly and confidently cleaving the serene.

The idea of this track is so deep that to reveal it, I barely had more than nine minutes. This is the minimum time in which you can be “plunged” into a different reality and turned back. The dynamics of the track is constantly changing, just as the ocean behaves: now the sound is tight and confident, now it calms down and becomes quiet and soft... All the sounds in the track, like a living organism, react to each other, echoing in sentiments, they are like waves that pick up and displace each other.

The moods in the track are played up with all sorts of combinations of rhythmic patterns. I used about twenty different drums there. All the drum patterns in this composition are incredibly simple as the nature itself. They do not sound as though invented by people. Listening to them,  you’ve got a feeling that you've heard them somewhere, like the heart beat... But for all its simplicity, the track is always changing and does not repeat through whole its length. It seems like the sound is alive. With all the abundance of tools, the mix is comfortable to listen to. Though not everyone can recognize the whole symphony of sounds, because all of them are perceived as “one”.

Talking about the genre of this composition, it's hard to define a clear format. “Marine Voyager” inherited a plain and simple rhythm from Minimal Techno, a soft and organic sound - from Tech-House, atmospheric sounds of nature - from Ambient ... I am sure that suchlike universal ideas cannot be implemented within one separate genre.

This sound is of a high dynamic range, its beauty can be especially appreciated on a HI-FI system. There're a lot of sounds with short attacks and releases. Some parts of the composition are so full of sounds that you may not notice them at a first listen, a person is not enough attentive to catch all the details at once. "Marine Voyager" is really worth listening to  for many times. 
To create this mix, I needed a mixer console for 50 channels. The track is so saturated, that it is hard to add something else there. It took me 4 months to assemble the track. It’s more than 400 hours of work. I really cared to make the mix sound great on the big club sound.

The “Steamboat Whistle” occupied an important place in the composition. His timbre is a combination of the real hooters and the synthesis. Generally there are a lots of synthesis: the sound of wind, sea waves, the effect of "Radio" and others. It made them sound richer and seem more realistic. Well, if you wish to go on a voyage - this is what you need!

For DJs I’ve mixed a DJ FX mix. I love this work! It will sound great with almost any kinds of music. I moved out all the drums, cut off all empty spaces and from 9 minutes it left about 5 minutes with all the beautiful effects and vocals.  To make it easy for DJs to mix it, I left some silent drum beats at the beginning and at the end. This track is designed for true rave fanciers. It's bold, daffy and unpredictable. You can either like it or not, but it's impossible to remain indifferent.

"Crazy Outburst" hit total tops on soundcloud.com in the genres of Tech House, Minimal and Techno. Following the success, SYNTETICA ORG released a dance video from Kazantip Republic to this record, its' ratings soared on Youtube in a trice.

The music itself is freak and queerish: an unexpected track structure, extraordinary audio processing solutions, furious electro guitar, screwy vocals by Diana Stark, worked up beyond recognition... Here what Max Adams, a sound designer, tells about the creation of this piece of music:
" I was looking for a “new sound”. The idea was to make a hurricane dance music. That wasn’t a big deal... But on my way, I met a lot of obstacles, and that have finally much influenced on the result. I decided to experiment and not to plan in advance what and where will be located, how long will each part be. The track was written on the fly, to where it was going to. I worked at it for a long time and reached an uncommon structure. I would have never invented that other ways. Something like: several instrument were playing, all of a sudden one of them started going mad, all other tools caught that too, and they interlace all together, jumping to one or the other stereo channel, flying up and falling down, slowing down and speeding up, and at some point they got together again. This was a very unusual approach to make effects. It was very time consuming, because you have to create an individual effect for every instrument playing at a time. Not just send them all to general “SEND” and work it up all at once, but each had to be done separately.
Until the very end I didn’t know how to bring this experiment to an end, because the more craziness I put into each of the instruments, the more difficult it was to unite them all back, so that it looked like they were each a part of another and couldn’t exist by itself. All tool kit seemed to sound as a “madman set”: digital guitar, that I synthesized with a special guitar synthesizer “Tension”, as well as a very specific bass that was to be the basis of the mix. All of these were distantly resembling “acid trance”. And, in spite of the fact, I am not a “trance man”, I’d been delighted with that what came out. It sounded original!
Through the work, the track had grown up to 40 audio sources. I worked with it for about 3 months, but the audio sources could hardly be joined. If some tools were removed - the magic disappeared. It was remixed many times over and over again, each tool had been being finely adjusted, set on its proper place. Ultimately, I quit this job, being sure that I could never finish it, that seemed to be impossible. The sound didn’t ring as I expected.
A few months later my friend, a music lover, listened to that. He was so much impressed, and that inspired me to accomplish my mission. It was a great surprise for me that all the sounds flew smoothly into one holistic creature. The track even acquired a queer vocals with the "Pre-Delay” effect . It’s when we first hear the echo, and then there is the sound itself. A bit weird and "dragging" effect. Talking about vocals, I haven’t met such a hook before, although it is likely to meet. The voice originally belongs to our band’s vocalist Diana. But I found it cute to work it out to sound as a unisex, even a masculine.
To get some inspiration to create “Crazy Outburst” I listened to many hits in a rock genre: "AC / DC" and others. I decided to borrow the achievements of worldwide genius guys. I adopted some scales and harmonies to my track from that rock stuff. They were shifted around, I got the better of its rhythmic components and melodies. Those sets of tones lie heavily deep inside of us, in our childhood. This sound produces a powerful effect on our mentality, and causes strong associative feelings.
It needs to mention, that the track is made with some extreme equalization. There are some frequencies that are almost beyond the range of human hearing range. On a good acoustic system it makes it sound rich and lively. Partly, this is done to get a particular vibration of the bass around the space. These vibrations make the composition even more groovy. You can really appreciate this on a club sound system. “Crazy Outburst” is notable for its wide dynamic range and a very dense sound. Many common speakers cannot “draw” some of those features.
As a result, I got an interesting mix, but it wasn’t happy with it. It was too predictable, you could read the "loop" structure. I decided to add some live sound: an original electric guitar. We discovered a guitarist George Giatsidis from Athens. He is a real skilled pro, with fine many years of experience.
Cooperation with that man has transformed the composition greatly. Now you can find many moods and tones and intonations. His records fulfilled the track with emotion, made it alive and now it sounds more crazier than before. The mixing here is very dynamic: somewhere the guitar can be heard far in the distance, somewhere it crawls forward and become the solo instrument. I am pretty satisfied with this lively sound, now nothing needs to be added. The work is over!"
