No Control is a free track release that goes out to all of the people who have continued to support my music and have featured Spinscott tracks in their mixes.  The tune features 808 elements, classic style amen chops, various throwback samples, etc.  It is my second Juke infused Jungle tune, and is a follow up to Blow My Mind, previously released on Dynamix Records. The night follows on from the highly successful first edition of Elevate back in February with heavyweights Friction and Zinc this time joined Shogun favourites Technimatic and fast rising stars Emperor and Skankandbass who will help curate this bass fuelled occasion.

this is chapter 23 in a series of mixes called 'trust me i was there'. its been a while since i last uploaded a mix - reminds me of when i got my first job (aged 14, in canning town) where i was nicknamed 'arthur' cos i only ever did 'alf a' job. 
its been a great year, i've been working on lots of new music and hanging out with my kids lots, which is pretty much perfect... but i'll try to be a bit more consistent with these mixes.

the music in this mix, and the previous ones are the tracks that were played in the clubs i was playing and raving at, and on the radio stations i was on. in '93 i think i was on format fm with my dj partner swift - with a load of other great characters.

just listening back to this mix - when i heard 'Johnny Jungle' it took me back to a specific moment... I used to go Boogie Times as often as i could, and sometimes you'd catch Hype behind the counter scratching, which was a big deal cos we all used to check him on pulse, but the day that i remember really clearly was when i was in the shop with a few other punters and Pascal walked in and went through to the Office. Must be the same time that Johnny Jungle was about, and the whole place went quiet, and we were all like 'wow, you know who that was who just walked through? it was PASCAL'. I doubt many people realise how influential he was, or that he helped G start headz, all the old face recs stuff. what a dappa.

zinc - trust me - chapter 23 - 93 pt2

This is chapter 24 of a mix series called 'trust me i was there' - the music that was big in the clubs/raves i was playing at and going to, and the radio stations i was on, and listened to. 
there are some bangers in this mix - stuff from Roni, Pascal, Mark Pritchard (one of the most underrated producers, really worth looking at his discogs)the massive 'Scotty', stuff by Neil Trix, DJ Ron, Bukem and loads more. My favourites in this mix are the FBD 'core' track (black label both sides - so hard to work out what it was!!) and the Bounty Killaz 'do it now' track - for a couple of months that track was the biggest anthem in places like Rocket Holloway Road etc.
