Just testing the new VCA. I'm finally able to do the Redshift trick where you send the EG and a sequencer into the VCA to get what _sounds_ like EG modulation but really isn't. You can't do this with a normal VCA because it will just keep amplifying until you hit the rails whereas the 902 has a natural limit to how far it can amplify so it gives you a bit of a "compression" aspect when you start summing control signals into it.

The delay is an IK Multimedia X-Time on its tape delay algorithm.

Cool Sequence With STG Musonics 902 - Oct 13 2022

Composition on this began in late 2013 and ended Jan 24th, 2014. Here I use a 46-note per octave scale, some digital piano samples, a Csound front-end scoring system I wrote in Python, and some inspiration from very late 19th century and early 20th century French piano music (Satie, Debussy, Ravel) that I adore. The opening texture reminds me of Satie's universe, and I've often wanted to merge his universe with the extended palette offered by microtonal systems that give both transposition and purer representations of the upper-overtone language implied by the work of these French masters.
