Berlin’s @ombrainternational is back with vinyl number 5 from @TheusMago (The alter ego of acclaimed Mexican artist Mateo Gonzalez. Who has had successful releases under the moniker on Turbo, Kill The DJ, Correspondant, LDN and DURO to name a few.

The ‘Ella’ EP Featuring 2 originals feat. Doog with remixes coming from Il Est Vilaine (Paris), Arthur Johnson (Brussels), and label head himself Curses.

Over the past few months, Bajram Bili has been a revelation at Lumière Noire. On the label's compilation From Above, the French producer drew praise from listeners, DJs and critics alike with the eight housey, cerebral minutes of his contribution, Restart.

Bajram Bili is far from being a newcomer: Adrien Gachet has been making music under the exotic moniker for several years, combining krautrock and IDM influences into a rather convoluted genre.

On his previous album, 2017’s Remembered Waves, he had opted for a metamorphosis, bringing a new sense of freedom to club music, and this debut Lumière Noire EP is bound to elicit further interest in the artist.

Stretching over nine minutes, the playful No Fugue is complemented by a vocal track that seems to encourage the listener to visit the euphoric spaces in between.

The Dantean, techno-accented Fluttering maintains this unsettling pace and amplifies, building up anticipation by bouncing from hot to cold and culminating in an epic journey. 

The beatless Mother presents a complete change of scenery, with Gachet offering up a contemplative composition haunted by tinges of Vangelis and Carpenter.

With its acid accents, red-hot closing track Divided Flash completes the EP's musical register, closing the ambitious four-track arc and leaving the listener hoping for more – and soon.

Next up on the renowned Scottish underground label Craigie Knowes is Larionov & St. Theodore’s Thunderstrike EP. These two upcoming Russian producers team up for their fourth collaborative release, after catching the attention of electro & EBM lovers everywhere through their releases on Rotterdam Electronix, Hilltown Disco and Snuff Trax. Hailing from Voronezh in Russia’s Southwest, Larionov & St. Theodore pay homage to the golden age of electro with their raw analogue style that has been supported by the likes of The Hacker and Helena Hauff to name a few.

Each side of the record features a collaborative effort by the two producers, as well as a solo track. Larionov’s amazing cut Never Forever closes out the A side, and invokes a strong sense of Detroit electro and the iconic Drexciya duo with a foreboding, aquatic sounding synth. A commanding bassline, clamoring snare, and classic 808 rimshot provide the listener with a proper electro/EBM rinse down. The whole way through, the EP showcases the extensive use of the Roland SH-101 and TR-808, two pinnacle pieces of hardware used in crafting the electro style that Larionov & St. Theodore are known for.

Cross-border wiring in the studio for the new RFR release! Russia and Georgia share their musical conscience and deliver a fine split EP for cat. no. 16. RNBWS just recently caused a sensation with new tracks on RFR, and we already know Generali Minerali from his first release for RFR X. So now it’s about to time to melt their creative spirit into a collective EP on vinyl.

Generali Minerali and his army occupy the a-side. “Generation of Mars” is musical terraforming in its purest form. Minimally crafted electro, a shot of acid and well-placed melodic patterns are the main ingredients for a magnificent opener.

“Dry Water” sticks with the electro leitmotiv. Compared to the A1 we find a closer reference to the dance floor, meandering scanner sounds and a snare, that keeps slapping constantly. This is how we like it!

On the b-side RNBWS carry on where Generali Minerali and his troops had left the battlefield. “Galaxy” opens the doors to an interplanetary round dance, the place where mind and body join together in the sense of classic electro.

“Nothing but Hardcore” needs no further explanation. UK hardcore in its most beautiful garments, which is so characteristic for RNBWS’ tracks. Interwoven by electro elements, who get to the heart of this EP in terms of stringency.
