I was inspired to make my first EDM effort a tribute to Buckaroo Banzai after watching a video of Kevin Smith interviewing Peter Weller and John Lithgow at a special event for the Film Society of Lincoln Center (https://youtu.be/N8R8wmlggwc). During the intro Kevin mentioned that Buckaroo Banzai was very much like The Velvet Underground for musicians. It provided a foundation for a lifetime of creative effort. I had to agree that I had a similar reaction about the film, which made it and ideal first effort to experiment with Ableton Live and the Ableton Push. I've only just scratched the surface of what this gear can do. It is amazing and also intimidating.

This is a true first effort -- I do tend to like very chaotic and dirty sound over more traditional clean EDM. However in this track I perhaps have taken that too far. I have much to learn and look forward to the journey.

The harp sound is a sample of a Theremin and put through a series of filters.
The very distinct bassy-twang sound are wooded spoon hitting a microphone and put through a tubular filter.

The more buzzy bass are a pair of soups spoons played in the traditional folk music fashion and run through a series of filters.
