Gost Zvuk marks tenth release with a new full-length by Vtgnike, arguably the most influential producer on the Russian electronic scene who is also partly responsible for shaping the label's aesthetics and sonic identity. During the years of his practice Vtgnike meticulously sculpting a sound unique to himself finding a gap yet unexplored — somewhere between current hardcore continuum trends and the sounds of classic IDM era. But despite falling somewhere on the UK music territories, "Collection" creates a space of its own — the one inspired by the al the splendors and miseries of Post-Sovietness one cannot get rid of.

Opening his account with liquid deep house records like his original '1939' & 'Shades' which was produced alongside Viktor Udvari. Perfecting his sound over the last 8 years has culminated in a musical artistry thats warm and emotive, a trait thats being valued and released by reputable labels such as @berg_audio and @fastenmusique. And now, true to this wonderful form Laughing Man delivers a seductive selection of sounds from his own sonic universe. 

His music already tells a story all on its own, and we are delighted to welcome him to the #Unic family.

Very honoured to have Kasm (Adam Hannibal) grace us with the next bathtub mix. Adam is one of those talented humans who keeps a hand in many musical areas, steadily pushing the sounds of breakbeat and bass-influenced music in Winnipeg (and beyond) since 1995.

He's one of the original founders of Balanced Records, a Winnipeg/Montreal-based JUNO Award winning label balancing "downtempo, dub, house, world and all good spaces in between", and currently manages the label. Additionally, Adam hosts Quadrafunk, Winnipeg’s longest running DJ show on CKUW which has been on the airwaves since 1999, and is also an Artistic Director of the Manitoba Electronic Music Exhibition (MEME).


A few words from Kasm:

"Putting this mix together really took me back to the mid 90s chill out rooms. The parties and spaces allowed for an artistic exploration that could cover such a wide sonic terrain… “music for people with 3 ears” as Aphex Twin once said. The rooms were a perfect counterbalance to the high energy of main space and gave your brain a chance to process the entirety of the events along with your own social and personal world. 

When you know the audience expects something different and out of the dancefloor realm, you can really stretch out and still somehow touch on dubby, jazzy, dark and mellow sounds. You can hit relaxing strata but also delve into the essential tension points off the beated path. I feel all good mixes tell a story or reveal one from the listeners’ own experiences. So hopefully this mix takes you somewhere, or at least provides a soundtrack to a good cleansing…"
