In 2018 Dave (warfydave) Cooper sent me recording he had made, inviting me to contribute lyrics, vocals and steel guitar.   Immediately on hearing the recording, the words to Lewis Carroll's “The Lobster Quadrille” (sometimes called “The Mock Turtle's Song) started running through my head.
	We recorded the track and Dave posted it on his SC website (https://soundcloud.com/warfydave).   The song is still there at https://soundcloud.com/warfydave/lobster-quadrille-mix-4.
	The track I have posted here uses all the original stems except for the steel guitar (which I felt obliged to redo).   It has been re-mixed and re-mastered.
	There are many versions of this song on SC, the only ones I strongly remember are by Bruce Klepper (at https://soundcloud.com/bruce-klepper-1/the-mock-turtles-songfeat-mark-ewart), and Steely Dan (at https://soundcloud.com/steely-dan-official/the-mock-turtle-song), but I am sure they are all worth a good listen.

	The Lobster Quadrille appears in “Alice in Wonderland”.   It is sung by the Mock Turtle while he and the Gryphon attempt to demonstrate the dance to Alice.   John Tenniel's famous illustration (the cover art I have used) pictures both the Mock Turle and the Gryphon.

The Time Of My Life (feat Annie Smart )

Cinderella’s song about dreams and beautiful wishes is perfect for the Christmas/Holiday season. I tried to keep the delicacy and innocence of the song with theme and progressing variations. Each variant paints a slightly different scene and ambiance. Classic, vintage Disney music brings back to us beautiful childhood memories..It was very difficult to record with acoustic piano and I hope I brought this familiar song some justice!  The theme of the original work was from Franz Liszt's Etude No. 9 Ricordanza of the Transcendental Etudes.

Ennio Morricone se ne va lasciandoci con in testa quei suoi capolavori senza tempo, leggendario sottofondo di scene scolpite nella storia del cinema: da Noodles che dice di essere andato a letto presto per anni, in C’era una volta in America, all’arrivo alla stazione di Flagstone dell’ex prostituta Jill McBain, su una musica ultraterrena come Claudia Cardinale in C’era una volta il West. Da quando, poco dopo le 2 del mattino, si è sparsa la voce che il maestro non c’era più (leggi l’articolo: È morto Ennio Morricone), è stato un tributo continuo al compositore che tante volte ci ha fatto emozionare.

++++. PROFILE NOTES ++++

Once a wannabe, not yet a has been.

It had been over a decade since I put together a song,
and for that matter basically walked away from music altogether.
Losing hope that I would ever have the time to put into music again,
I finally gave away my 3rd music studio.
I ran across SoundCloud around 2013,
and thought I might take what few songs I had recorded, 
and lay them to rest there.
And there they languished.

HOWEVER, around 2017 I went back to SoundCloud
and began listening a little more and a little more,
and actively taking a part in visiting the sites
of so many wonderful musicians and beautiful songs.
Also, more and more often I would discover that these artists
were blossoming everywhere around the world,
and most definitely worthy of high praise and compliments.

Then suddenly, these old dead soundtracks right here
began to have a bit of life breathed back into them.
From the kind words that began to come trickling in,
I thought, maybe, someday I might give this music thing a try again.

The thing that finally pushed me into action
was a particular SoundCloud artist…Sander Heerings,

Not only was he encouraging,
but he began faithfully responding to a few questions,
then a barrage of them.

The final result seemed to be that after a couple of months,
the Old Grinder now has a 4th studio and, finally, a new song.
I hope there may be many more to come.

Thank you Sander, and to the multitude that have dropped in
to listen to these old songs, 
and most of all, for perking up my spirits.
