Nights of the round table

My Life of Being a DJ was Started when i was 14 years old, Wanted to be a Dj so much when ive attended some of the best parties in town back then, while i was taking a peep at the consoles and what the dj's were doing, it drew me more and more closer to the idea of wanting to be a DJ someday.

One Day i had to go and find a Software Driver CD for my Scanner, and ended up at a CD shop by the Name EXTREME DJ's. the Director Mr.Athri Mapitigama was a Businessman and a DJ, while burning the CD i see him and his colleagues messing around with the Music and the DJ Software Mixvibes.

The Evolution for me and Mixvibes Started then.

That day on i somehow found a demo version of the software and started experimenting with music, all i starting knowing about being a DJ was to Play a song and mix it over to the other and continue a nonstop playback of songs, what i didn't know was that you have to beat match and beat mix it all the time, i eventually ended up being close friends with athri and his EXTREME Dj's Crew, i had the chance to come into there Studio area and get a hands on test run on these equipment and software.

Eventually it came to one day that i saw Athris mate, ( cant remember her name) she told me malli this is how you should do it, and its just not cross fading and that you have to get the tempo of the two songs to a same tempo as the other.

I started to learn what this was all about, took me more than a month to realize and took me at-least 4 months to evolve the koththu mixing into a better beat mixing.

Since then i was known as the youngest Dj in my Hometown MAHARAGAMA, There was not much djs back then, but now im sure theres a 100 in a bush of trees if you go and knock on one :P.

I got private booking for Parties way out of colombo at first, at age 15 i even played homecoming down in matara, kalutara, pandura.. Wayyyy outta colombo.

Then as my talent progressed i was automatically playing at Private parties in Colombo, School batch parties, Weddings and Promotions.

When i reached age 18 i was a bit too much in to partying n stuff, i was obliged to lay off that life, which eventually led me into a more professional career in IT and Banking.

But my love for music NEVER STOPPED.

So here in SOUND CLOUD i use my free time to mix podcasts and make it available to the public.

(P.S. There's more in my life of being a DJ that i havent told in the Above Description- but would love to tell the tale)
