PSB – Love comes quickly


Here’s a basic output of a PSB ”LOVEQUIK” disk. It’s from a Page R sequence playing back all 8 channels with the audio output recorded into the computer and mixed together.

The Fairlight Instrument file on this disk, LOVECOME.IN, contained the following voice files used in the Page R sequence:

•Track 2 – QSIM.VC
•Track 3 – QHAT1.VC
•Track 4 – QHIHA.VC
•Track 5 – QBASS2.VC
•Track 6 – QCLAPREP.VC

Here’s a basic output of a PSB “VIOLENCE” disk. It’s from a Page R sequence playing back all 8 channels with the audio output recorded into the computer and mixed together. This recording has no external processing.

Here's a seqence labelled C7.SQ that I found on a floppy disk that came with my Fairlight IIx. It's on a disk labelled "Christmas" and it has a Instrument file labelled CHR.IN containing the following voices:
1-4 RHODES4
5 BASS1
6 LMKICK
7 FLUTE
8 JINGBELL
This sequence voices except FLUTE.
Who made this sequence, I have no idea. I'd guess is was recorded in 1983 or 1984. It is recorded using the Page 9 Keyboard Sequencer.
It sounds a little rough in spots, but that's what was recorded into the sequencer...

Here's a seqence labelled C13.SQ that I found on a floppy disk that came with my Fairlight IIx. It's on a disk labelled "Christmas" and it has a Instrument file labelled CHR.IN containing the following voices:

This sequence voices except FLUTE.

Here’s the output of a second Pet Shop Boys “West End Girls” Fairlight disk. It’s all 8 channels being sequenced in Page R and then recorded into the computer and mixed together. No effects, no nothing – just the basic output of the Fairlight sound channels converted to a WAV.

PSB-West End Girls-Fairlight-Output-Disk 2

Here's a basic output of a PSB "Two Divided By Zero" disk. It's all 8 channels being sequenced in Page R and then recorded into the computer and mixed together. Just a little reverb, as it just didn't sound right without a little reverb on the crashing tympani sound.

Here's the output from a PSB "OPPOWHI2" Fairlight CMI floppy disk, played on my Series IIx CMI. It's from a Page R sequence, playing back all 8 channels with the audio output recorded into a computer and mixed together.

This looks to be the disk for the second CMI that the PSB used when they played on the Old Grey Whistle Test. Blue Weaver's name is shown in the comment field for some of the Page R patterns.
