I had in mind our last night of trekking in Landruk situated in the foothills of Annapurna with this track.  My first electronic music production which has live recordings of a dance gathering, a funeral and our tour guide.  It feels like a dream now that visit to Nepal, so I tried to mimic a dreamscape with the sounds transitioning from one section to the next.  It tells a brief journey, one I hope to travel on again. #workinprogress

My take on the classic christian tune, "Purify My Heart" written by Brian Doerksen.  #workinprogress

This one is really more of an experimental exploration bridging the world of electronic and christian classic melody, and how far I can take the original song without losing its essence.  

The 80's synth sound is also explored carrying with it the main first bar of the melody, "purify my heart".  The sections are broken down into three main parts, (1) Intro/Verse/Break, (2) Chorus, and (3) Outro, which coincide with the three sections of the lyrics.

One quiet afternoon
as my fingers licked the strings of the guitar 
a series of melodies flustered on top of the chords
progressing ever so slowly to a particular 
memory they rise and swallow me whole
a sudden pause in my momentum
I hit record to catch a glimpse
of it all

Interlude

As I began to explore the nature of self, closer and closer I became desponded.  I started to unravel and unmask a lot about me, many of which exposing the brutal truth that I have veered away becoming completely and utterly lost.  

But what found me hiding in the dark in some metaphorical cave in me, is music.  Little by little, as I become bolder and bolder I started to understand its nature so deeply rooted in me.  So I started to record, I started to listen.  I became quiet and I left home.  Briefly, I found myself wandering the cobblestones of Victoria meeting strangers.  I noted the dilution and cosmic exposure of sound in conversations intermingled in pubs, coffee shops and book stores. 

Then I found myself in the Philippines, and there the tangled roots of the mangroves spoke to me telling me to move, to write and to create.  But something yet still unfounded had a grasp of me to remain still.  But after the adventures in Nepal and trekking the Annapurna hills with others, I knew that I won't be able to do this on my own.  

Music is this, it is the pulsation of life around you hidden beneath others' soul, and listening ever so carefully to their stories, their sound, their vibration.

A Prayer of Moses, the man of God.

Lord, you have been our dwelling place
    in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth,
    or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
    from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
You return man to dust
    and say, “Return, O children of man!”
