Wave Of Hope

Over the last few months we’ve been working on a project that aims to raise awareness of an issue that keeps losing public awareness. In the hope of finding safety and protection in Europe and a fair asylum procedure, people are forced to cross the Mediterranean Sea in unseaworthy boats. Not only are state authorities and the European Union refusing to provide humanitarian aid, they are criminalizing civil sea rescue.
Because of this ongoing situation, we have started another fundraising campaign in order to make a small contribution to the essential work of Sea-Watch e.V. Their main goal is to try to save as many people as possible from drowning in the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, they are committed to educating people about human rights violations at the European borders, for example with their podcast “Grenzerfahrung”.
We collected a variety of sounds by eight beloved artists to present our very first Various Artist EP: “Passages”.
All the collected proceeds will go straight to @seawatchcrew .

For the 36th podcast, we've invited @cyan85. The producer from the rough depths of Eastern Germany persuades with a laid-back weekend selection. He niftily combines sublime and atmospheric electro and house, audibly influenced by hip-hop vibes. Enjoy!

With this 56th episode of our series we are proud and extremely excited to bring the Denver-based phonk legend @bamdcamp to you. With a unique style and extreme versatility, BACKWHEN is one of the most recognized and talented artists the phonk scene has to offer. Supplying us with constant output he is a key part of the early days of modern phonk being a member of some of the most influential and widespread projects out there such as @purpleposse or @holymob.

@vsonntag, the Leipzig-based DJ, started DJing techno back in 2019.
With a mix of driving beats, infectious grooves, and hypnotic minimal rhythms, her sets keep the energy flowing.

She's graced stages at well known clubs like Tresor, Rote Sonne, About Blank, and Institut für Zukunft, both locally and abroad in England, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and Spain.

Being part of the Nebula collective, V:SONNTAG not only spins tunes but also plays a role in organizing events and managing a podcast series. Since the beginning of this year, she has been running the series „ Focus: “ to promote the visibility of FLINTA* artists.

vital platform to develop their vision of 21st-century techno on

Pate Jaar, hailing from Tbilisi, founded DifferentSound in 2017, shaping a musical journey of his own.
DifferentSound Records, under Pate Jaar's leadership, appears to be more than just a record label. It seems to be a multifaceted organization involved in various aspects of the electronic music industry, including artist management, creative agency services, organizing events, and contributing to the techno scene in Tbilisi and beyond.

Overall, Pate Jaar seems to be deeply passionate about techno music and is actively involved in cultivating and promoting the genre, both locally and internationally.

Kevin Ferhati, an American DJ/Producer based in Berlin, began his career in 2017. Known for his extensive output, his music combines obscure, melancholic, and ambient elements with ancient soundscapes. His deep connection to Berlin's dynamic music scene has continually evolved his sound, pushing him to explore new creative directions and refine his unique artistic vision.

For our episode 103, we have invited closer Milano Owner @rorsch-ack_closer 

Augusto, known as Rorschack, was born in Taranto in 1985 into a family of musicians.
Mastering keyboardsand drums from an early age, he transitioned to DJing, refining his skills in Rome and Florence before joining the Timeless crew in 2013.
His eclectic style blends electronic, techno, fast future-techno, and psytrance,earning him performances at prestigious venues like Suicide Circus, Rote Sonne, le Zoo/Usine, Tresor, ://about blank, and Griessmuehle. In 2015, he co-founded "Closer Milano," reshaping the global techno scene.
His performance at HOR Berlin in May 2022 marked a career highlight, while recent appearances at Closer parties alongside brands like Bassiani, Vault Sessions, and Meat Free Manchester, showcase hisversatility.
With releases on labels such as Ismus, Abstraction, Front Left Record, BCCO, RI7MO, Ghetto Rythm, Diffuse Reality, Oecus, Complex Fractals and Eram Records, Rorschack continues to inspire with his innovative productions and unwavering dedication to electronic music.

The 01366 co-founder & resident thrives on taking the crowd through different moods & journeys, whilst always trying to maintain a solid flow throughout. Growing up in the north west of England & with roots in the illegal rave scene, you can still hear these influences moulded into his current style today. Having played at top venues including FOLD, ://about blank, The White Hotel, La Cheetah, Corsica Studios & more - Twelve Seven is an artist on the rise, with a constant aim to reinvent himself.

Growing up in Potsdam, @linko shaped his style at Spartacus where he began playing out records in 2015. He went on launching several event series and regularly hosting bassmusic nights of different kinds. He is part of the Dark Real Dark collective and has a lot of love for everything around uk garage, breaks, electro and footwork.

The 107th episode of Syntop Audio is presented by Jessie Granqvist.

Staple figure of the Swedish scene for more than a decade, @jessiegranqvist is a remarkable and versatile DJ with a deep musical culture and a true connection to the sound, always embracing progression and beauty in sound to provide truly hypnotising journeys. Having played with many of the best techno and electronic music artists of our scene over the years, she is a regular at clubs like Khidi in Georgia or Tresor in Berlin alongside being one of the reference artists in the Stockholm scene for many years.

The 108th episode of Syntop Audio is presented by moraine.

Currently, @moraine ´s style is characterized by an atmospheric sound that builds up rather slowly. This is often accompanied by more minimalist and clear tool elements, which gradually increase. He draws his current genre influence from music and artists that have a hypnotic focus and stand out through the experimental design of low and medium frequencies

For the last Syntop Audio of the year we´ve invited Ryan James Ford.

While growing up in western Canada in the 1990’s, Ryan James Ford was introduced
to electronic music through the local rave and club scene. He began to discover,
study, and collect the music he heard at these parties which consisted of a mix of
Jungle, UK hardcore, Techno, House, IDM, and ambient.
Ryan’s love for early Warp, Metalheads, Metroplex, Tresor, Skam, Downwards, and
other pioneering labels continues to influence his dynamic productions and DJ sets.

For our 110th edition, we're happy to have @lomi-hack

Lomi is a musician exploring the intersection of sound and architecture. Since co-founding BRUTALISM in 2015, he has used the label as a cultural research platform to investigate sonic forms through materials, textures, and structure.
This mix is a live recording of his opening set at Open Ground in July 2024. It features some personal favorites he wanted to revisit before setting the tone for the night while exploring contemporary techno’s cutting-edge sounds.

For the first Podcast in 2020 we invited MRD. The norwegian DJ and producer is "one of the most exciting things to happen to the Norwegian club scene for ages".

Since she first got in contact with club music in 2015 and after several releases on labels like Intrepid Skin and Mord Records, she became established as one of the most exciting artists in Berlin. Besides impressive shows at Atonal Berlin in 2019 and her residency at Tame-parties, she worked together with Ensemble Basiani for her latest project, to create an exceptional performance at CTM this year.  
In her mix for Wave of Hope, Nene H, who is known for her dynamic gigs, comes back to the roots of impulsive and percussive Techno while she always sets fresh new accents.

She developed a big impact on what the electronic music scene of Copenhagen represented the last few years. Besides numerous performances at influential clubs and festivals in the last years, she started the “mixed media channel” Amniote Editions alongside Rose Marie Johansen in 2019. It includes diverse releases like music, posters, clothing and video from Copenhagen scene and beyond. In her intoxicating mix for Wave of Hope she linkes fresh and modern Techno with progressive elements and Manu Chao.

SYNTOP FUNDRAISER FOR WAVE OF HOPE

It's the fourth podcast of our charity series to raise money for „Wave of Hope for the Future” - an initiative founded by refugees for refugees in the camps at the borders of Europe.
They promote education in the camps by building schools, organizing educational material and supporting teachers. Art and languages form the basis of the education that is made available.

The fourth contributor is Gabber Eleganza.
Started as an online project by the Italian artist Alberto Guerrini in 2011, the aim was to create a bridge between the sonic landscape and the aesthetic side of Hardcore and post rave cultures. 
In his mix he shapes the landscape by merging noise, deep textures and hardcore soul with a good amount of cutting punch.

The eighth contributor is Varg2™.
Head of Northern Electronics, Jonas Rönnberg, is one of the most creative and productive artists in the past years. Under his moniker Varg2™ and a variety of contributions to projects like The Empire Line, he had a vast output on labels like Nothern Electronics, Posh Isolation and Semantica. 
For Wave of Hope he bounced a fresh and powerful mix, including several unreleased stuff, out of his summerhouse in Sweden.
