It's My Life - Lesley Jorgensen - Talk Talk Remix

Inspired by the sampling and layered production of Old Skool Hip-Hop, Syrinx had started his style of DJing in the Flats of Cleveland, OH. There, he spun at Fagan's, The Attic, and Jimmy's, from 1998-2001. There were also some other gigs around the area, such as being the Cosmic Bowling DJ at Palisades IV, in Mentor, OH. 

While living in Columbus, OH, he joined The Fishnet Mafia, who was the city's official shadowcast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and performed with them from 2005 till 2012. He started as "The Criminologist" but soon he became "Riff Raff" - the role that he's most known for. During this time, he was also the DJ, where his custom-made mixshows and playlists went with the theme of each show. 

In 2008, he was brought on to the airwaves of NRЯRadio.FM. He started off as a special guest host on The Wide World of Sex, and then on The Kode and Nyte Show. He then attacked the airwaves with his own mixshow called The Sunday Night Special. It was a one-hour mixshow that not only showed off his mixing skills, but also his wide eclectic taste in music. This served as the pre-party to The Sunday Nyte Show, which Syrinx was also a co-host of. 

Over the next year, he had an idea for his own talk show, entitled The Geeks Come Out At Night. This would be a live discussion free-form show, that showcased geeks and music. The premiere show aired in 2009, and had both Devo Spice and the great Luke Ski, who had also recorded the song in which Syrinx asked to use as the theme. There ended up being ten shows total, and the topics ranged from music to movies, conventions to cosplayers, and authors to directors. Some other notable guests to appear have been writer/director/actor Larry Blamire (The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra), author Linda Robertson (The Persephone Alcmedi Book Series) - who also features Syrinx in her third book, “Fatal Circle,” and rock band ZO2! 

In 2010, he had left NRЯRadio, and brought his mixshow over to Sobel Nation Radio. The format was still the same, but the show was renamed to The Time Warp. It was something to tie-in with his Rocky Horror life, but also: Time = decades and Warp = remixes. This brought him a little more notoriety as a remixer, as his show was among others from Ford, DJs From Mars, Jerome Farley, DJ Eddie Kay, and more! The Time Warp became such a hit, that it ended up getting syndicated on 151 different Night Out Radio stations, and on WildCat FM.

Also on WildCat, Syrinx introduced a new show, entitled It Does Go Well With The Chicken, which was billed as “The Other Side of His Music Collection.” This was a one-hour weekly playlist that featured new and classic songs, underground hits, deep album cuts, rare gems, unreleased songs, demos, fan favorites, and a little humor thrown in for good measure. A few of the shows paid tribute to a band or a genre of music. 

As he waited for Sobel Nation to return, Syrinx continued releasing remixes for his fans to download. However, one of them caught the ear of a net label in Germany. His remix for “Nine Dudes Freaking Out” by The Gothsicles, is track #8 on the Dark:Two compilation, released by Planet X Records. It was also from other Gothsicles remixes that Syrinx is thanked on their third album, “Industrialites & Magic.”

Now, dark_NES (the vocalist of The Gothsicles) has teamed up with Syrinx to form their own project called Khionik. The sound is industrial house and club, and their first song. “Vaulted Beast,” was produced and mastered by Dan Clark (The Dark Clan; Magma Dragon)! Syrinx is also in The Gothsicles live roster, performing with dark_NES on occasion.
