@4am-nyc has been an integral part of the New York Underground music scene for over a decade. Founding and running the beloved party series + radio show, Spiritual Mental Physical since 2017, they have held down residencies at Good Room, Public Records, Le Bain and Jupiter Disco.

They joined for a peaktime selection session at our A Joyful Noise at the end of last year, showcasing a distinct knack for finger-snapping house... so good we had to put it out for the global groovers!

John Daw (Kalk, Hotevilla) has put together a 74-minute mix of tracks written between the mid-1990s and the present day, most of them previously unreleased, including collaborations with Mandel Turner, Fred Melosax, Pierre Alain Goualch and Javonntte, lost tapes, bootlegs and ruff drafts.

Marco & Simon meet at School, Soon discovering they had the same interests in the Hip Hop movement that had filtered over to the U.K from America in the early 80's (Electro, Graffiti , Breakdancing and Scratch mix Djing). Discovering the breaks that the Djs were cutting up and playing from all Genre's of Music (Funk, Jazz, Disco, Soul, Dub, Reggae) , Hunting down the samples & breaks of the Hip Hop tracks they were listening to. Then boom the Acid House scene took over the U.K and they were both soon attending various Raves up and down the country at weekend's. Soon there was a change in the records they were both hunting down and a different rhythm and beat was taking over. Both of them brought some equipment and decided to take up production and started making tracks in the studio under the name Filta Freqz focusing on the Funky Jackin House Scene. Javier Garin is an argentinean DJ and passionate vinyl collector whose journey with music and DJing began in the mid-1980s. He started out working in radio stations in the Buenos Aires suburbs alongside renowned broadcaster Diego Poso, and by the early 1990s, he was already performing in clubs like the legendary Mirage in El Palomar.

After taking a break to complete his studies and become a certified public accountant, he returned to music in 1997, becoming a resident DJ for five years in a nightclub in Miramar. In 2003, he moved to El Calafate, where he quickly became a pioneer of the local electronic scene. He launched a party series at The Grouse, blending funk, disco, synth pop, and house, and by 2004, hosted the city's first ever electronic music event, a cycle that ran for four years.

Between 2004 and 2008, he also curated a monthly event at Shackleton Lounge, with a music style geared toward the influx of international tourists. In 2010, he founded House Me, a weekly Wednesday night series at Don Diego de la Noche, known for its 5-hour extended sets. By 2016, House Me became a traveling event, featuring top national artists such as Carlos Alfonsín, Dee Jason, Dr. Trincado, Facu Carri, Tato Piatti, and Manuel Sahagún.

Since the pandemic, Javier has also turned his focus to music production, collaborating with local DJs and musicians from El Calafate. His career reflects a deep dedication to vinyl culture, musical diversity, and building community through sound.
