DANE MITCHELL:

Dane Mitchell, an artist brought up on electronic music. This deep-rooted passion for electronic music was ignited when I was ten years old. 

I developed my own unique style during the mid 2000s and began my DJ career in 2007. From my grassroots of the Eastern Cape, I spent 8 years playing at some of the best clubs the underground scene had to offer: 52 Parliament Street, DnE and Gondwana to name a few.

After moving to Cape Town in 2015, I soon became acquainted with the vibrant scene and secured gigs at some great clubs and festivals, including the amazing RESET in Loop Street. Since moving to the Wilderness in 2020, my focus has turned toward producing to refine that specific, high energy melodic techno style. 


SYSTEM THEORY:

System Theory was formed from the undergrowth of the Eastern Cape psychedelic music scene. After years of success with the minimal/techno act, Dane Mitchell, System Theory was bred as a psychedelic side project which soon blossemed into the act it is today. Having co founded Port Elizabeth's first and largest monthly psytrance event, running the psytrance Eastern Cape forum to holding residencies at top outdoor festivals such as Wacky woods, Tunnel vision festival, Hug a tree, Earthdance and playing main sets at nearly every psychedelic party in the area as well as the garden route. Now a Cape Town local signed to PsynOpticz Records, you can catch System Theory at various top outdoor festivals in and around the Western Cape. Expect powerful, well planned, energetic sets with top class mixing.
