Bonnie Spacey's sound is one characterised by unique contrasts and combinations with a root interest in organic instrumentation and a keen interest in the deeper shades of Disco, Techno and Electroclash being melded effectively in her productions and DJ sets.

Now - the french born and Berlin based maven encapsulates her knack for cogent contrasts across a heated 2-track EP for Exploited Club that weaves between Samba, Disco, Italo and House.

'Samba Disco' stamps a dominant foot on the floor as ripe, sturdy drums provide a stout foundation for pitch shifting delays and a searing hot synth climb. The vibe is arresting and highly spiced as the track continues to charter ever-elevating altitude in a manner that makes it easy to picture decadent dancefloor chaos.

'Light Shadow' follows up with a no-nonsense House groove that glows lucent with richly layered keys and an effortlessly sexy vocal. As is the case with the track's counterpart, the sounds are thick and palpable and the mood is intoxicating.

Chords burst with colour while pitch bending soars and energy courses towards a head-twisting breakdown that sends out more voltage to the floor and marks the closing chapter of an electrifying record that bears a distinctly Bonnie Spacey sheen.

Radio Slave’s 2008 ‘Grindhouse’ feat. Danton Eeprom has a new mix from Italy’s Vaert and shifts from its original home on Rekids to Techno-orientated oﬀshoot RSPX in late February. Having previously been remixed by Danton Eeprom, Len Faki, Nic Fanciuli, Obscure Shape & SHDW, Slam, and notably Dubfire, who provided an iconic interpretation, the 2025 release emerges with a distinctly Melodic Techno lean.

Seventeen years on from its original drop, Afterlife and HABITAT artist Vaert’s remix of Radio Slave’s ‘Grindhouse’ feat. Danton Eeprom supersizes each element and roughens the beat by crunching its bassline with heavy distortion. Reminiscent of Dubfire’s hugely influential ‘Terror Planet’ mix of ‘Grindhouse’, Vaert briefly oﬀsets the track’s rampaging bass with lush pads before the original’s mind-altering synths blow the roof oﬀ, Eeprom’s vocal sample oﬀering something to hold onto throughout this dancefloor-primed cut.

Pets Recordings shakes things up with another exciting label debut. UK producer SAHAR, celebrated for his unique, vocal-led productions on labels including Sum Over Histories, Isolate, Me Me Me, and Exit Strategy, storms onto the Pets roster with his brand-new Shakin' EP - a two-track journey packed with seismic energy and unmistakable groove.

Leading the charge is the sinister electronic strut of the title track, Shakin'. Crafted as a bold announcement to the dancefloor, the track has already proven itself in SAHAR's sets. 'I made Shakin' because my sets usually have my own vocals as a theme, but I wanted something that felt like a direct message to the crowd,' SAHAR explains. 'I thought it would suit the early stages of a night, but it ended up being my closing track for most of 2024 - it's got that perfect sign-off energy.'

On the flip is, How U Feeling? a track that takes inspiration from the fleeting sensations and energy of the dancefloor. 'I made How U Feeling? just after ADE,' says SAHAR. 'I heard a DJ play a track on the crane, loved it, and asked what it was. Unfortunately, I forgot to make a note of it, so the knowledge was lost forever.' Back in the studio, he worked on recreating the vibe from memory and, having been especially drawn to the energy of the heavily distorted female vocal chops, created his own.  'I'm thrilled with how it turned out, even if I'll never know how close I got to the original inspiration.'

SAHAR's 'Shakin'' EP drops on February 21st on Pets Recordings. Prepare to feel the rumble on the dancefloor.
