Our old pal Geoff Shullenberger, writier and critic extraordinaire, is back on System of Systems to discuss his new piece for American Affairs – 'How We Forgot Foucault.' In it, Geoff describes the irony in Foucault's recent dip in citations and his abandonment as a "hero of the modern left," given that during the pandemic so much of Foucault's theories on biopolitics and biopower have proven to be utterly true. We discuss the aspects of Foucault's ideas that have emerged as inconvenient to a left and liberal establishment all too eager to abandon freedom and civil rights in the name of public safety and health. Fuck them!

Max Julian Eastman is a noise musician known for recording music under his own name and with projects like Greathumour and Tantric Death as well as the proprietor of what we consider to be one of the best American noise labels currently in existence. In contra to countless other labels that endlessly put out everything that comes out of "the scene", Max approaches Tribe Tapes with an aesthetic and conceptual theory. There is a general sense of discovery here, with reissues of artists that you certainly have never heard of, and a strong, unmistakable visual aesthetic. A welcome addition to the Counter-Agency of the Avant-Garde, indeed.

Kanye is trying to release a new record, Vultures, with Ty Dolla $ign, and his enemies are refusing to get its samples cleared, leaving the record unreleased. The cover of Vultures uses a Caspar David Friedrich landscape and a typeface clearly alluding to Burzum. Given Varg's politics and the fact that Friedrich was a favorite painter of Hitler, the trolling here is pretty clear and didn't take long to enrage libtard critics. The controversy and aura around a Kanye release is what makes him the most important artist alive. He is perhaps the only living CONTEMPORARY artist, one who channels the multitudes and contradictions and informational channels crossing over of digital culture. He is the richest and most powerful artist of our lifetimes, one who has made billions not just for himself but for others, but he still manages to embody the rebel spirit of industrial music culture or dada. He's Artaud, Bowie, Michael Jackson, and William Bennett at once.

Kanye Versus the Vultures (w/ Matthew Denicola)

Ben Werther is a conceptual artist, born in Nashville and living in New York, whose new exhibition at No Gallery,  “WHEN YOU CAN NO LONGER SPEAK, SING ME A SONG.” , presents a fascinating sequence of photographs that initially look like on the ground photojournalistic documents of armed combat. Upon further inquiry, however, you learn that these images were captured during Werther's attendance at a number of MilSim LARP rituals, in which Americans don military fatigues and arm themselves with airsoft rifles and pantomime military conflict. The exhibition also offers the work in book form, along with the cryptic writing of the artist complicating the images' meaning.

Model and host of experimental Youtube podcast Public Dopamine Bimbo Ubermensch has shattered the glass ceiling and become SoS's first wamen guest. As our Canada correspondent and hot women representative, she gives us the juice on the extreme lockdowns that have turned Toronto into a neoliberal hell hole, and talks about the problem with men incapable of seizing will to power. Other conversations topics include the Great Reset, the necessity of aesthetics to any political theory, and the hideousness of leftoids.

SOS is joined by British music producer and sound artist Helm, who talks about how he found out about our show (he was an early patron of ours), being a free thinking musician in a deeply ideologically rigid culture, his career in music, and his refusal to let his music be politicized and his demand that his art be perceived as an aesthetic experience, not an ideological one.
