Extract from a three-part Sz. Berlin sound installation to be located in the former Yugoslav command bunker in Konjic, Bosnia. The installation is a montage of effects and sounds from the Cold War era in Yugoslavia.

Sz.Berlin (Schmerzzentrum Berlin) is a London based sound, performance and installation project.

It draws inspiration from the history and iconography of the DDR, plus related German and European historical, cultural & ideological sources. It takes particular inspiration from the hidden history of electronic music research in the DDR, as well as from East German design culture.

Following several London performances, in May 2011 the group created sound and text installations and carried out a live action in the former Yugoslav nuclear command bunker at Konjic, Bosnia. The main work, 25kt is permanently installed in the blast tunnel of the bunker and is a sonic simulation of a nuclear detonation created using the sounds of the bunker. Sz. Berlin's work at Konjic was featured on BBC Radio 4 and in Art Monthly.
