In this talk, Boiler Room's Gabriel @szatan sat down with @wolfgang_voigt to discuss his landmark GAS project – some of the greatest ambient / dub techno / experimental electronic music of all time.

It was recorded live in front of an audience during a Classic Album Sundays session at London's Brilliant Corners, November 2016.

From the dark tones of 1997's "Zauberberg", through to 2000's glistening "Pop", the music Voigt recorded under his GAS moniker remains perhaps his most beloved and influential of a long career. Contemporary geniuses such as Tim Hecker, The Field, Burial, Donato Dozzy, William Basinski and more all carry the GAS hallmarks.

We reboot our series of talk podcasts with an in-depth look at Roni Size Reprazent's drum 'n bass landmark "New Forms".

@ronisize himself sat down with Boiler Room's Gabriel @Szatan to discuss the Mercury Prize-winning smash, its legacy over two decades, and a deluxe 20th anniversary reissue package which was exclusively revealed to BR here. The "New Forms" remixes included here will feature on the forthcoming release.

It was recorded live in front of an audience during a Boiler Room x Classic Album Sundays session at London's Miranda (Ace Hotel), September 2017.

Our series of talks podcasts continues with a celebration of Radiohead's game-changing "In Rainbows", celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2017.

Radiohead diehard @lone-1 guested at a Classic Album Sundays event in London (Mirands, Ace Hotel) with Boiler Room's Gabriel @Szatan to go deep on the Oxford band's stellar and deeply personal 2007 masterpiece.

They also spoke about his remixes for the band; the classic Boiler Room party he played at the invite of Thom Yorke; "In Rainbows"' notorious 'pay what you want' approach; and more. Contemporary Classics #002: Lone on Radiohead "In Rainbows"

Our series of album-focused podcasts continues with a celebration of Burial's mysterious masterpiece "Untrue.", which turned 10 the day of this talk.

Two heroes of the UK underground dance culture – BBC/Deviation's Benji B & Keysound's Blackdown – sat down with Boiler Room's Gabriel @Szatan to discuss everything that fed into Hyperdub's stone-cold classic. Focus on rave euphoria, FWD>>, night buses, El-B's drum techniques and much more inside.   

As a special treat for the heads, "True Love (VIP)" and the alternate version of "U Hurt Me" are included on this podcast, their first official outing on tape in many years. Have fun hunting those out.

Burial "Untrue." with Benji B & Blackdown – Contemporary Classics #003

Our series of album-focused podcasts continues with a celebration of Hercules & Love Affair's self-titled dancefloor delight, celebrating its 10th birthday this March.

Hercules' chief songwriter, Andy Butler, sat down with BR's Gabriel @Szatan before a Horse Meat Disco party in London to discuss everything that fed into the project's first LP.

Kim Ann Foxman, Nomi, and Anonhi (fresh from her Mercury Prize winning record as Antony & the Johnsons) worked with Butler to create an alchemic blend of bold, defiantly queer voices over a raw but classy disco-house template. Led by crossover smash “Blind”, the album captured a moment of colour and abandon returning to alternative music, reinvigorating the disco scene and captivating electronic circles too.

Butler’s tale on this podcast also doubles up as a potted history of Guiliani-era New York City; a companion piece to last year's “Meet Me In The Bathroom” but walking on the other side of the cultural road. Hear how electroclash, freak folk, disco revivalism, cabaret, Frankie Knuckles & DJ Harvey, the queer outsider art community, and the omnipotent DFA Records eventually fed into one of the 2000’s best dance albums.
