Why are we afraid?

Szjerdene's voice is both earthly in its soul and celestial in its purity: soothingly familiar, and yet unmistakably distinct. 

Her self-released debut EP ‘Patchwork EP’ dropped in 2012. After a live video performance caught the ear of Simon Green, alias Bonobo, hot on its heels followed a collaboration on his fifth studio album ‘The North Borders’. Despite embarking on an exhaustive world tour that took in 175 shows in 30 countries over the course of 18 months, she quickly amassed a second body of work, and by late 2014 she was back in the studio once again.

The result was her second EP ‘Paragon’, presented in its blissful entirety in 2015. Featuring three singles co¬-written and produced by Lapalux, it comprised six original tracks, each sequentially unveiling its own related tale of love, loss and self¬ discovery. Szjerdene’s spellbindingly pure voice and stirring melodies collide seamlessly throughout, their signature frameworks resulting in a sublime, immersive collection.

Following the release of singles ‘Restart’ and ‘Rain’ in 2019, Szjerdene bares her soul with the launch of her third solo EP ‘Trace’. Dappled in dreamy swathes of string instrumentation and Szjerdene’s innate capability to write with her heart on her sleeve, the release of her third EP ‘Trace’ is her most personal work to date – an unapologetic statement of artistic intent.
