The vibrant city, a night out in the field, concrete, glass, grass, soil and rust - MARKUS KENEL and NICO SUN set off looking for the sound of home. Their paths, struck out long ago in the rural hinterland, now converge in the center of a city.

The result is called KENEL \ SONNE, a search for identity through a musical awakening. Arriving in the drone, the noise, the recording in the field, zoning out to wave, psychedelic mantras and the remains of forgotten records. It’s all in there in this unresting audiosphere of two unequal brothers in mind - yet both endowed with a curious heart, knowing that with every new found answer will come eleven new questions.

“A Space Calamity” is a retro-futuristic sci-fi epic created by Trippin Jaguar and Small Solar System Body as an homage to the  sound of retro science fiction. It tells a story of lost machine intelligence, of dark neon-lit cities and vast stretches of seeming nothingness.

It’s carefully crafted sound design and vintage synths emerge you in a new reality with unlimited possibilities. Grant yourself this trip through warped electronica, lush ambient and lo-fi breakbeats and find out for yourself what happens when psychedelia and science fiction collide.

Frigate Unknown is part of the four track EP "A Space Calamity pt. I" and will be out on May 20th.
Part II will be released a week later on May 27th on the fresh Amsterdam imprint The Other Eye.

We begin a new serie of remix EPs in between our original 12"releases.

We invited a team of champions to remix "ILPI001 - Pigmalião" and we are proud to present to you the debut EP "ILPR001 - Pigmalião Remixed"

Starting by the head honcho from "Themes For Great Cities", monsieur Lucas Croon remixing the track Aurora, spicing the groove with some beautiful classic drum machines and trippy atmospheric layers. M.RUX's wonderful version of Zingili transports you to an unexpected, soft and intriguing territory while flirts with syncopated schizophrenic grooves. Ground's minimalistic version of Baskéda jumps into a hypnotic acidic vibe full of surprises and intense for the dance floor peak. And "nel gran finale" Rodion's cyberpunk version of Bahiafro has an imposing strong bass line attitude and futuristic layers.

Carla Valenti se une a Pirotecnia con Gladys, su más reciente single. El sencillo nos lleva hasta lo profundo de un Chile que se quiere levantar, que busca incansablemente su libertad. El track cuenta con grabaciones de la política chilena Gladys Marín (1941-2005), sumadas a sonidos que logran encontrar su lugar creando un track profundamente respetuoso, reflexivo y melódico. Sin duda es un track potente, con un mensaje que se suma al de las calles, al de los corazones que buscan justicia y al de un país que despertó. 


GLADYS es el lanzamiento número 45 de Pirotecnia. El arte de la portada estuvo a cargo de la artista Manu Ela.


Biografia Carla Valenti:

Folclorista desde pequeña, la chilena Carla Valenti conectó el mundo de la música electrónica con sus raíces y aspiraciones de manera instintiva, natural y plácida. Hace casi una década inició su carrera como DJ, primero tocando estilos diversos y poco a poco descubriendo la música electrónica, al mismo tiempo que exploraba ciclos melódicos y percusivos, tonos de matices, desde el reggae hasta el hardcore metal. Cuando se graduó en tecnología de sonido, comenzó a conocer el mundo de las máquinas, audio y la música en vivo. La producción musical cada vez más se convirtió en su gran interés y necesidad. Después de cinco años investigando, estudiando y escuchando, no hubo marcha atrás, y comenzó a crear sus propios significados y difuminar la línea entre ser DJ y compositora.

Nosotros como Tchamma Yapu celebramos también la llegada de este WALÜNG, que posterior a un eclipse solar representa mucho más. Los astros se vienen sincronizando para generar la triple conjunción entre Júpiter, Saturno y Plutón que da paso a la nueva era de acuario, llamada la época de la nueva humanidad que todos esperamos.

Un momento preciso en el espacio tiempo para reunir a grandes exponentes y artistas emergentes del downtempo Chileno, para conformar este WALÜNG y marcar la llegada de tiempos mejores para todos juntos.
