While taking a smoke break at The Sweatshop in Brooklyn, NYC, I was asked by an exceptionally friendly punk as to what sort of sound my band was cultivating.

I shrugged, thinking of how the battered heads on the rented drum-kit were de-tuning, even as we spoke, and gave the non-commital answer so often spwen forth by new bands. 

"Post-Alternative." 

He laughed. "Bullshit, says I. We all play post alternative. So what they hell are you really playing?"

It took me a moment of searching to answer that, but without further ado, I present to you: "New Wave Post Soul". (It's every bit pretentious as my previous answer, but at least somewhat more descriptive.)

RAYTRACER - The Dankest Timeline

In uncertain times a young pilot is tasked with destroying a recently autonomous robot. When the protagonist arrives on the scene, the pilot is alarmed to see just how similar the two actually are. This track forces the listener to ask deep, existential questions: what is the nature of sentience or intelligence? Is it a robot or a mech? Has anyone even bothered to check?

RAYTRACER - Schuylkill River

A Drummer, Producer, Songwriter, Author and Scientist- Cupcake (A nickname earned in the Army for being "So @*#$in' Sweet") has long been fascinated by natural and technological phenomena as well as the people who live around it. The deep bass of 104 mm rockets, the shrill highs of construction in a city, the unmistakable boom of cloud to ground lightning as well as the struggle of humans to adapt and overcome the conditions around them remain a consistent muse and theme in his work.
