Dublin house duo Obskür make their Defected debut with returning artist and vocalist SHELLS. Raised on a diet of Defected classics, the boys honed their craft in lockdown and reaped the rewards after, having already worked with leading industry names Eats Everything, Pete Tong and Gorgon City. Their previous release ‘Daydreaming’ saw UK radio support from Danny Howard, Sam Divine and TCTS thanks to its pure house sound that showed a respect for where the genre came from. The duo have rightfully earned their debut Defected release ‘Rebel’, enlisting the help of SHELLS; no stranger to a Defected hit, the UK talent sang on ‘Nightjar’ with top producers Vintage Culture & Sonny Fedora in 2022, gaining major play worldwide and setting the benchmark for what modern house should be. SHELL’s dark and hypnotic vocals permeate ‘Rebel’ as Obskür show off their sleek, synth-led production skills accented by hard hitting percussive elements.

Joshwa makes a much-anticipated return to Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations this July with his irresistible two-tracker ‘Lost In Music’. Following the runaway success of 2023’s ‘Bass Go Boom’, which quickly became one of the year’s most played tracks, championed heavily by the likes of John Summit, Gorgon City, Fisher, MK, and BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard, the two-tracker delivers two contrasting moods, serving up fresh heat from sunset to sunrise.

Leading the release, title track ‘Lost In Music’ reimagines a timeless disco classic through a contemporary house lens, delivering textured percussion, sparkling funk-laced synths, and an infectious groove that captures the euphoria of summer dancefloors. On the flip side, ‘High’ shifts to a moodier, club-focused sound, featuring deep bass rumbles and Joshwa’s trademark powerful, tension-filled breakdowns, propelled by a driving bassline built to move crowds.

Since breaking through in 2022 with major collaborations alongside Lee Foss, CID, and Martin Ikin, the UK DJ and producer has remained a dominant force on the global tech house circuit. Currently in the midst of a busy summer schedule, with performances lined up at the likes of Paradise and elrow, and backed by ongoing Beatport chart success, he adds to his recent Black Book Records heater ‘GDH’ with an impressive high-energy return to Hot Creations for his second outing.
